What new features should be added to Clans?

Now that we've all had some time to work with Clans, what features do they need? As an example, I'd like to see when someone was last online on D3. Because if someone is taking a clan slot and isn't playing for a month they should be kicked, unless some kind of arrangement was made.

What about a clan bank, like POE has?

Any other ideas?

- Being able to sort people by the time they were last online would be really nice.

- Similarly, other member activity metrics (possibly visible only to Officers and Leaders) would help a lot with clan management. I'm thinking about stuff like chat posts per day, average playtime per day, etc.

- Filters for incoming join requests. If I only want to invite people with a HC Paragon level of 50 or more, then it would be extremely convenient if I wouldn't have to decline everyone individually if they don't meet my criterias.

- Relaxed member privilege restrictions. Why can I give a member permission to invite people, but not allow them to set their own clan note?

- News posts should be separated from clan loot history. News posts are lost between the loot when they aren't pinned, but only 5 can be pinned at a time.

- Some kind of internal clan leaderboard would be a nice feature I think. It could pull data from our profiles and display it in a sortable list. It could also list stats that aren't visible on our profiles, assuming that the game logs them. Things like the number of Elites we killed on each difficulty, speed records for each Act, how many Treasure Goblin ran away from us, etc. would be interesting to see and could inspire some competition. At the very least such a feature could would make it much easier to see who's the most experienced with a given class for example, so people could turn to these people directly with their questions, without first asking in the clan chat.

- This is for Communities, but it would be amazing if the game would remember on log out which Community chats we joined and auto-join them when we log in again. The EU IncGamers Community had 300+ members last time I checked. However, it's really rare to see more than 20-30 people in chat and I'm fairly sure the lack of this feature is partly to blame for this.

- I would really appreciate a way to disable clan Achievement and Loot announcements. If there's already an option for this and I missed it then please tell me.

A question: will these feature request be forwarded to Blizzard?

Yes, I intend to send these to Blizz. At the very least make a post there and see if we get any Blue responses. I searched their forum and don't see a recent post from anyone about clans in general. There are several threads about clans but in the few I looked at didn't see a suggestion thread for general clan improvement. Might have missed it, but it seems like they added clans without much thought and clans can be improved quite a bit.

Super sizing. They should have learned from the 100 friend list thing and made clans either have a much higher member limit or no limit.

The friend list limit probably has nothing to do with the member cap for Clans. A very good argument against increasing the cap is that the clan chat would quickly become an unreadable stream of text. Even when only 50 people are online discussions can easily appear as disjointed sentences.

Yeah it's tough to keep up even now, especially if I want to play and not sit there reading. Having said that, I will ignore clan chat about half the time since I am on to play. If someone needs me they whisper and I can notice that and reply.

- Hardcore Death announcement. This should be a toggle able option, but if earning Achievements can be posted, I think HC Death is appropriate.

- Game note visible to clan members. Are you grinding CotA? Running Act 3? Or just upping 1500 gems while watching Netflix? Maybe you're rushing a friend to 60. It would be nice to have a note set so other clan mates can see what the game's intent is before joining up.

Those are great ideas Krond. Can't believe I forgot about the death announcement as an officer of the EU HC clan. The shame!

Ah, but it does. The 100 friends list cap inhibited larger groups from working together. It's the same deal for the bigger clans. Smaller groups don't need the high cap.

I'd like to see communities function like the current clans but without the member cap. Clans could have all sorts of guild features and progress and I'd like to say prestige, but then there would have to be some game play association.

Nooo Trocadero! The game longevity appears to be shorter than ever, trading would make it like a fart in the wind.

A way for you to select which of the menus opens when you click the giant clan button would be nice. In other words when you click the clan button you go automagically to the roster list. better sorting options. Damage/toughness sorting.

I noticed something odd about the Incgamers community. It says there are 300+ members but when I look at the roster I see noone but Elly. And of course the chat issue is a big one, why can't it be treated just like clan chat, except being community. It would be cool if we could personalize our own /type command to interact with specific communities like say to type to the incgamers community we set the slash command to /inc press space and start typing to the Incgamers community instead of having to join and type the whole thing out or piggyback off of another chat response. Not quite streamlined. It would also be nice to have a separate tab with scroll functionality to see available open games of community members for the quickjoin. So we can actually interact better with community members instead of having to click the community, go to the roster tab and find open games of comparable difficulty.

the quick join should list ,instead of mouseover, what difficulty level the available games are.

Trading

What kind of trading? In-Clan trading? A Clan bank, where you can place items and anyone in the Clan can use them? That would be similar to what POE has and I think it is a nice feature. Maybe items should be bind on Clan instead of BoA. That way someone else in the Clan can benefit from something you find that you'll never use. You can trade anything with a Clan member that way, if there is no Clan bank.

Could be exploited easily. Join my clan and get items then leave pay me XXX gold to join. Only way that might work is if you leave the clan the items go back to clan bank and only clan officer/lead can destroy items etc I still see that being exploited even if you were there when it dropped or paid to stay in a clan to use items. Too complicated and I doubt it would happen.
