What makes a good Fool's claw?

Hello. I have an admission to make... I don't know much about Fool's claws and what builds are good with them. I've been keeping an eye out for them. I have a magic Fool's katar, and these two rares that I just found:

I could upgrade them to greater claws for a WSM of -20, but I understand that the best are greater talons at WSM of -30? If these claws are used as off-claws, then I'm pretty sure that the IAS on them is useless. I guess what I'm asking is:

1. What builds are good for Fool's claws? I have no idea. If you can suggest some, I can then go read the guides.

2. Must Fool's claws have a WSM of -30 in order to reach the last breakpoint of whatever attack that build is using? Or can these rare claws above, when upgraded for WSM of -20, be good as well?

3. Are Fool's claws ever used as the main-claw? If yes, then IAS on them will help.

That first claw is awesome, the second one... much more useless.

Anyway, onto questions:

1. Fool's modded claws are used almost exclusively on WW sins, who need attack rating to hit todays high defence duelists.

2. No. They do not need to be of that much speed. WSM of -20 is almost as good, and only requires a tiny bit more IAS to reach the final breakpoints for Trap Laying and Kicking. Virtually every claw with a WSM of 0 or better can hit the last WW breakpoint with as little as 15 IAS. (Assuming I recall correctly, check the IAS Charts in the sticky)

3. Fool's claws are always used as the main claw, simply because otherwise the advantage of the attack rating is made moot.

Thanks for the reply and things to look out for on Fool's claws, Laz. I may build a WW-sin one day, but I'm rather far off it I think. I've still got a trapper that I'd like to do first (I found for her two very evil claws to use). I also do not PvP, so the AR bonus may not be as important, although still good for the boost for PvM.

Not as good as the other claw with 2 os and + skill.

I don't want to brag but i have a fools claw that i think is good for a trap/ww hybrid

(Don't have exact stats)

1 Light sentry
Fools mod

I would not put that down as a good claw, but I would say it acceptable... at least until you can find another one with damage or skills.

yo i just found my self a fools mod claw and decided to up it so i cna use it against barbs. The thing is im not getting any ar bonuses on my ww. My regular attack get sthe bonus but ww stays at 4k unless i use angelics then its 8.7 k. Ive tryed in both hands and still nothing.
The mods are similar to Slaughterstubbs claws. Cept i have 2 to skill and 27 to ar and no max dmg. What am i doing wrong?

If there's no max damage on it it's not a Fools, the Fools mod is + Maximum damage based on level and + AR based on level.

It should be your primary hand claw, and the AR bonus should show up just fine.

I found out what i did wrong. you cant str bug it or have the exact ammount of points needed. Or else it wont show up at least for me. I used a tgods and i got the bonus go figure.
