What lightning skill to pair with orb?>

Charged bolt? Lightning? Chain lightning? I was thinking normal lightning instead of CL, what do you guys think?

How many points in light mastery? is it worth it to max, or just 1 point? Are synergies more efficient? I've been pumping charged bolt utill I know for sure.

Should I even bother with ES, or just max vit? How about dex, how much should I get here?

I wouldn't bother with ES unless you're a single tree, it will just eat too many points. Also, the mastery helps much more than synergies.

Personal preference - max chain lightning/lightning mastery, then lightning. You'll hit packs of lightning immunes in hell, and it's just much easier to hit chain twice than to spam lightning until you hit every little fetish.

Some people like charged bolt for bosses, but since you're going to use orb, I'd just sweet spot them.

my vote goes to charged bolt. it's fun to blanket areas with those lightning bolts. and having lightning as a synergy is pretty nifty too. a good mix of short and long range attack =)

i have a lvl 89 sorc now.

1 CM
20 CB
20 L
20 LM
rest in CL ~20 with + skills (besides warmth, teleport, shiver armor and pre reqs)

It wears full tals, spirit, natures peace, fcr ring + fire resist, magefist, travs, torch, anni, 1 light GC some resist charms, some mf charms..

it can solo baal, diablo, clear pits in 3 minutes, clear ancients pretty fast, makes countess a big joke and can kill nitla if merc doesnt kill much mobs (everytime the merc kills something i have to tele away to avoid getting "nuked")

I use CL in easy areas to fast kill, in harder areas i static mobs and finish with 1-2 lightnings. Meph/andy/baa are easy to kill with CB or Lightning if they have some nasty mods. I use orb most for rushing lower lvls or killing light imunes.

u can actually use both, if u get to arround lvl 95 (that is what i am aiming for, but will take some time)

I second with Niklet if u can afford it and you have the patience to build it it is one helluva build. Reminds me of the old nova/orb sorcs back in the day.
