i m running baal run , need to kill baal fast ??

if the merc use a weapon with -25%def , will it work on other skele??

which is more useful to kill baal ,, -25% or crushing blow or ..??

Crushing blow is always good to use...though mine at the moment uses a botd eth giant thresher...and waheed won't give it back yet.

The -25% def won't be passed on to your Skellies.

For killing Baal the CB > -25% def.

I like the +4 Ariocs needle on my merc for normal play, to improve his might.

Reaper's Toll I don't like, since the 33% ctc decrepify tends to override my curses. On the previous ladder, I gave my merc a bonehew when he reached lvl 90, to get rid of the Reaper's Reaper's would have made a great weapon for another char, but the ladder crush prevented that.

Crushing blow comes to mind here. A "Steel Pillar" (I think that was the name...) is on my wishlist, to use vs the diablo clone. I don't think I'll switch the merc weapon just for the act bosses (too bad mercs don't have weaponswitch )

The simple solution to getting some crushing blow for your merc (when he needs it) is to swap out his helm for a Guilllames Face when you go up against a Boss like Baal. Crushing blow is not very useful against ordinary monsters so another helm with good leech (like Crown of Thieves, Tals Mask etc) is usually better for normal play. That's what I do and the few seconds a trip back to my stash takes is more than made up in much quicker time it takes to kill Baal. I guess Rattlecage would have a similar effect if you didn't have a Guilliames Face.

Sometimes people have to think out of the box. In this case, many people playing d2 including myself tend to get trapped at times only thinking one way - that the only way to outfit a merc is to permanently swap items and wear them all the time.

There's nothing wrong with tp'ing back to town and slapping in a rattlecage, guillame's or any other weapon with CB for a particular boss like Baal that really benefits from crushing blow.

When you're done at your next convenience just slap on your regular playing items.

I found an Eth Superior Collosus Vouge today. I can get 4 soc so I went looking through the rune word list. I did get 4 soc from quests so I decided to try Passion. I wsa looking for something cheap. Dol Ort, Eld, Lem. Well I rolled a 207%ed wich is almost perfect and it does like 752 Max damage. It has some decent other mods too. If your merc is strong enough, it's adecent cheap option. I dropped my Bonehew for it.
