    What is the best duo?

My friend and I are starting new characters from scratch. We have no items, money, or higher level characters to help us out. We'll be playing the characters together 100% of the time, what should we make?

I thought about lower resist/poison nova necro and vengeance/conviction/salvation paladin, but do LR and conviction stack?

Maybe a Sacrifice/zeal/fanat paladin and an amp damage/CE necro, or that same paladin with a whirlwind or concentrate barb?

What 2 classes/builds would go best together?

Any two builds where one can tank and one can deal high damage. Since you are untwinked you have to find two chars that do that together without any godly items.

Conviction pallies are slow and do little physical damage, so they cannot leech and thus would make a bad tank. Plus you would deal more damage with zeal anyway.

I think summoner necro and light trap assassin would be fun. You would have good tanks and light traps could obliterate enemies.

But just about any two characters can go well together. Specially pally's and necros because of auras and summons/curses.

An odd duo would be druid and assasin. Those where the two characters added in the expansion, so it might be fun to try. Kicksin and a wind druid would be fun, but probably not as godly as any melee char + fanatacism.

Are zealers still a strong build? Sacrifice/Zeal/(might, concentration, or fanat.) Aura? I definitely like the physical damage paladin idea, so what else should I go with? Another pally with a different aura?

I used to play way back before synergies. I quit right after they nerfed firewall, so that should give you some idea. I'm from the v1.08-1.09 era.

I C. Zeal pallies can be very powerful with midrange equipment. Fanatacism aura is the way to go. From there, it depends on what your friend wants to do. Bowzon is fun, as is light javazon. Necros with summons are good, they can have a might merc and you would get that aura too. Any other melee chars would fit the bill, it depends on your friends play style.

Personally, I would be a ww barb. Good party skills and would greatly benefit from your aura.

I always pitch the zooomancer and enchantress. 30+ minions with juge AR and over 1000 fire damage added...huge.

Note that conviction does not reduce poison resistances.

I reckon Elemental Zealer with Conviction and Lightning Sorc. Fast Melee attack, loads of elemental damage, no need for AR, and the light sorc wiping out everything as well. Plus it frees up the merc for a different weapon other than Infinity.

I'd go with that one too, but we all know that in the end there can be only one!

I always liked the zealadin w/ fanat + a bowazon. Or you could go a elemental zealot with a elemental bowazon.

Haha That's the easy way out, isn't it?

I want to have fun going through the game, so I think we're doing zeal/fanat pally and either ww barb or bowazon. Still deciding

I'd go with the bower, so that you don't get butchered in the Chaos Sanctuary. Also an encantress with fireball would do well with a zealot. Unless you encounter any physical/fire immunes, in which case you are gonna encounter some issues.

I'm just going to put this out there:

Pure summon druid and a pure passive/magic zon.

Good luck killing anything past act 2.

I know this thread was a little old, but no need to make a new one.

Me and a friend of mine are going to do some mini diablo lan. We plan on getter to hell baal as fast as possible.

So we are in need of a nice duo.

First i thought 2 sorc, because of teleport you can get very fast. And then 1 cold sorc and 1 fire or lightning sorc. That way we can kill allmost anything.

Another option would be 2 hammerdins, having meditation and concentration up all the time. Those 2 pallies could stuff out huge loads of dmg.

The thing is, on our last diablo lan (4 man lan), the group killers did al the work. So i think groep killers are crucial (i mean like, bosses are easy enough to go for only group killers) so i guess we are going for group killers only.

The list of good group killers isnt that long, namely:
    - Hammerdin
    - Sorceress (blizz, CL, static)
    - Javazon
    - (Bone necro, not a really good group killer, but magic dmg >>> elemental dmg)
    - (Fishymancer, to slow i guess)
    - (Trapsin, mana problems on single player)
    - (Windruid, not a real group killer, hurr is to weak)
    - (Bowazon, to weak on single player)
    - (Psn necro, i guess it will never be that strong)
    - Plus i must be forgetting some

Well anyway, id like your thoughts about this.

PS: We begin from scratch, so we cant build around items. Only around skills.

i think that your underestimating the bowazon and the trapsin as as much thier roll isnt just killing, but offer other advantages as well including high damage (remember with a bowazon, its all about damage over time...)

blizz sorc is always the best first starting character(1pt sf), paired with a tank barb should be ez, or even a hdin.
