What is good amount of resist to negate convic/foh and blizz/mastery

So what is the best amount of resist to negate these. Lets say lvl 45 cold mastery. Like what amount of resist will give me 75 resist all after the mastery kicks in or the convic kicks in thanks.

k, im not sure what cold mastery caps out at but i know conviction can only have -150 res. and lets say they have 4 facets, so -170 right. k since your base is 0, then you lose 40 for nm, and another 60 for hell, right? well anyway thats -270, so if u want to have 75 res u need a whopping 345 all res, just 315 with all anya quests. thats if you want max hell res. for max nm res you only would need 255. if im makin a stupid mistake please let me know, too lazy to open d2 and actually look at it

btw i wasnt very clear the max negative resist you can have is -100

So, lets see here, suppose that your average blizzard is doing something like 12,000 damage per shard.
With 95% cold resist you take about 600 dmg per hit.
600 sounds like too much dmg for me to be taking so depending on your character you might want some absorb as well.

I don't play PVP but lets say there is some sort of PVP nerf for a skill?
Then you may well be able to get away with a little less.

I am sure that there was information around about how to calculate absorb and how much absorb and resist you need to be happy.

Having done a bit of dueling with a 90/95/95/80 something resist paladin I would have to say that if you plan to take a few hits from high lvl sorceress skills you will need resists absolutely as high as possible and absorb.

2 ravenfrosts + any positive resist would probably work

If you are usin your necro alot for pvp like I think you do, I would have 2 ravens, 2 dwarfstars, and 2 wisp protectors available depending on who you are dueling. I usually keep all of my switch gear *ie: those rings in my cube, just for pure laziness

I do not like absorb. Absorb is useless if u do not have stacked resists. So my goal is 325 resist O___O absorb is good an all but not that useful :)

You aren't taking into account the 1/6 pvp penalty. A 12k blizzard against a person with 95% cold res AFTER cold mastery would only do 100 damage per shard :)
