What does the item mod "bloody" do?

Since I haven't found any accurate and permanent info pages about 1.07, I started making my own and while checking out Gore Rider I discovered the following:
ItemMod2Code: bloody
ItemMod2Param: 1
ItemMod2Min: 1
ItemMod2Max: 1

It doesn't show any extra attributes in a screenshot of the item, so what does it do? In newer patches, Gore Rider lost this mod but it appeared on a few others instead.

Well. it makes an item extremele rare when your builds desperately needs it, and makes it too common when it's not needed. Examples:
- Bowl-locks!! Where is this bloody Buriza!
- Ah damn fifth time a day I get this stupid bloody Vipermagi from Meph.

Thanks. Before I posted this, I searched several times and found nothing relevant.

The only post in "1.07 News, Info and Gossip" is this one and the following reply lacks an explanation or references. Also, the mod is still on two items in 1.13c, so the question is not exclusive to 1.07.

Yeah, those.. That list looks like something from ATMA. I have never seen "3% Extra Bloody" in the game.. but then I might be blind.

Perhaps you mean that they do have the properties but they don't show in game. So the questions are:
What does it actually do and if it does anything in 1.09+, did it do the same in 1.07?

Even if it just is a graphic effect, how do you know that? Guess? I think I have read it somewhere else while searching online, but noone explains where they got the information. Maybe it's visible in the game while playing.

Meh, it's no big deal, really, I was mainly curious. If it's not displayed in-game, I can leave it out as well.

Those are indeed ATMA readouts of 1.09 items. The shield has OW, so it could be that the mod increases the OW damage. For the boots, the only thing that makes sense would be the DTA.

Interestingly, there is a range of "Extra Bloody" on the shield - e.g.:

Code:
Swordback Hold
Spiked Shield
Defense: 48
Chance to Block: 50%
Smite Damage: 5 to 9
Durability: 34 of 40
Required Strength: 30
Required Level: 15
Item Version: Expansion
Item Level: 92
Fingerprint: 0xc1e90930
+41% Enhanced Defense
+20% Increased Chance of Blocking
+10 Defense
Attacker Takes Damage of 10
50% Chance of Open Wounds
5% Extra Bloody

I have a vague memory that the extra bloody mod caused the monster struck to "bleed" more when it was affected by open wound mod. Whether this was just a graphics mod or actually cause the beastie to take more damage I don't know. Or perhaps all this is just a figment of my imagination.

I appreciate the replies. I'll just add a note about the mod and let people guess what it does. :)

Also, I found abs-pois/lvl: 4, 4, 4 on a crappy Lidless Wall.. if poison absorption per level would've worked, it might not have been junk.
