What does bramble+iron maiden do against ww barb? pvp? ifr

    What does bramble+iron maiden do against ww barb? pvp?

    HIho!

    Returned from a long time of pvp barbing.....


    Euhm question: What does bramble do against a ww barb? They argue that they will use life tap ... but.... if am useing decreptify or iron maiden.... that should hurt him right?

    Has someone done the math?

    And in practical: how does it work?

    By the numbers, using the thorns aura on yourself, you will actually cause much more damage with amplify, since it doubles what thorns is causing.

    You can get a huge radious with amp damage, which makes it easier.

    It will work best on summons that dont die in one hit.

    if fighting a opponent with summons...doesn't terror do a nice little number on scattering them? (windys and other necs?)

    just get them to hit a clay golem while amped or IM'd and its pretty much instant death. obviously they won't mess up like that again so its really just good for a one time laugh.

    on the other hand, I have goofed with a lot of damage returning builds without relying on HIGH hp minions, none of them work. with edge bow and 21 bramble returning an ungodly amount of damage at level 36 thorns even with amp, it would take off only 1/8 of a standard bvc's life per hit. now I don't know any necro in the world that can tank 8 hits from a bvc.

    maybe if you used nova to bring him to low enough hp where he owns himself whlie hitting you, it could work. but then you just become another novamancer.

    This was a better strategy in D2 1.04 and back.

    In addition to the 1/10th penalty, I think Thorns/IM goes through the regular PVP penalty. Combined with enemy physical resist, this makes Thorns a joke aura.

    Blizzard claims D2 isn't balanced for PVP, yet Thorns got this extra penalty anyway. Just like Tomb Viper damage is a feature, despite the fact that it is a typo.

    If you want to kill barbarians with thorns, max IM and have them WW a bonewall. Doubt it will work more than once on even a stupid barbarian though.

    things like IM + Thorns are nered in pvp by a 1/10 penallty IIRC and 1/6th pvp penalty that dmg goes through, not to sure on these numbers above but its definetly nerfed.

    However if a minnion with thorns or the barb hits minnion with IM he will hurt himself badly due to the penalty doe not include things like minnions or bonewalls.

    But builds like these dmg return builds need to relly on the following;

    higher health than the opponment fighting.

    No Dr

    the opponment also has to have no dr as well.

    all these things are unlikely as if u have high Dr this will reduce the dmg the opponment gives u while at the same time reducing the toal dmg he recieves, which is then reduced again by the amount of DR he/she has on the char. Also u would also have to relly on being able to out tank the opponment and this would mean having high or extremely high hp.

    Also most BvCs counter IM + thorns with either lifetap or leap+tele zerk on the nec.
