What char to do next?

Ok, I perservered and after 10 months patted my poorly built barb, first character. What should I build next? Something fun, but definately that can move through the game faster than the barb did. Any suggestions?

really depends on what char you like and how you want to play it.

for example, i like playing hammerdin because i like the feeling of being superior to all the monsters since hammerdin is really powerful.

Well , i would recommend sin , but that because i like them
If i were you i would just create skill setup that i like , but if you want to go easier route , try Fishymancer (boring as hell) , hammerdin (overpowered) , some kind of sorc.

Fast as hell=Assassin  Yes if you want a fast character play a MA assassin :) or really whatever your fave character is

TS/DTail Assassin. They're not overpowered, but they do sweet damage and are a fun build to take through. And, as Kool69 says, they're fast!!!

Umm...there's something about 25k fire damage that just screams overpowered. That said, I would recommend an assassin because of her extreme versatility. She can be a caster or a straight up fighter, and in playing one you will become a better player because you have to use so many damn skills.

right. but i'd say that you need some good gear for that. you can play them untwinked and you'll have troubles with PI/FI's, which makes it interesting. I basically was just saying that they're nowhere near the hammerdin or skellimancer for clickfest cheese. :p you actually need to play them smart in hell or you get toasted. IMO, anyway.

Nothing is as close to a hammerdin for pure cheese. That's why it was my first v1.10 character...

I really agree with wildjinn here about the assassin. If you play them smart, they can and will take on anything in the game. Play them poorly (you have two difficulties to hone your skills) and you'll end up 6 feet under with an bankrupt stash.

btw, what is a reasonable amount of damage for an untwinked D-Tailer?

I always like the avenger. Although, he is not the most powerful build out there, he gets the job done.

I'm really digging my LF/Strafe hybrid zon. After a barb, a ranged character might just be what you need :)

ive heard that javazons with maxed... erm, that level 30 javalin skill that isnt lightning fury... is a really good character for boss running, and with fury for crowds, and valk / merc / your own phys dmg for LI's, they are quite good characters overall

hm. if you can grab a pair of myrmidon greaves and don't care about the mods on them, low 20's (thousands) max damage or so with a good life pool is probably pretty easy.

And I agree with these guys. Pure lightninzons are super hot. I played a boneslinger that was a lot of fun, too, but he'd probably be in a spot of trouble untwinked.

They at least have immunes (LI's, LI/PI) to deal with...Hammerdins have one.

But if there are no LI, the speed is abuslutely insane, not even hammerdin can match it.

They kill my frame rate nicely too, which no other char can do. :)

You're thinking of Charged Strike, which is actually a level 18 skill, and it absolutely destroys Act bosses with one or two of its synergy skills maxed (I went with Power Strike, since it's a pre-req for Charged Strike as well as a synergy and thus I only had to use 19 more points on it instead of 20 more, and Lightning Fury was my main non-Act-boss attack anyway).

The other 30th level skill is Lightning Strike, which, like Lightning Fury, is really only good on crowds, but, unlike Lightning Fury, is slightly bugged (something about the way it "acquires" the next target in the lightning chain is screwed up and forces it to ground out earlier than it should), so it is essentially worthless unless you want to just go bonkers with lightning damage on your Charged Strike and be left with really lacking passive and magic skills and nothing for taking down LI monsters.
