What can I do to improve my Bowazons damage?

I'm kind of stumped as to what to do to improve her damage, so I'm just going to list all the info and you can suggest things to me.

Level:86

Str:131 (w/ equip bonus)
Dex: 372 (w/ equip bonus)
Vit:50 482 life

Strafe damage: 674-2465
Guided: 896-3271
Normal:818-2857

Passive skills: (add +4 from equips)
3 crit
2 avoids
5 pierce
Max valk
Then 1 in all the rest

Bow skills: (add +7 from equips)
2 freezing arrow (accident)
Max strafe
Max guided

12 points unused

Fort armor is 300% ed right there. What merc are you using? If not using an a2nm offensive, I suggest that one, giving might increasing your dmg even more. Slap a Pride on him for even more dmg.

Also, what charms do you use?

Fortitude Armor + 10max dam gcs should give you a boost in damage.
You can also try Wts boots, check if you kill faster with those instead of Gores. You will see higher damage on screen, but not always you kill faster.

I'm using a 50 poison gc, 100 poison sc, and a 25 poison lc I think. Then just a bunch of life scs and lower damage charms. Nothing special.

How much does fort go for, and what type of armor should I look for it in?

I may get war travs, they've been on my list for a little bit.

Why no merc? Get a might merc and you damage will go up, fort costs about 1 and a half HR's total, 1 HR from the LO and half an HR for the armor if its an expensive one.

Once I get a might merc how should I equip/train him? Since I've never had one if I were to get one already close my level it would not be as strong, correct? I'd need to get a lower level one and train it up...

No, luckely it dossent work like that any more! You can hire any merc you like, it dossent matter. NM act2 offensive mercs are what you need.

Equip him with tals mask/shaft as a cheap option. Or Gaze/CoH as a little more expensive. Any high dmg eth weap will work

Just get reapers + andy's + duriels shell or something if you want a cheap yet effective merc. You do want one with might obviously.

Other than that, ditch the poison gc and lc. Get +max charms if you want more damage, poison charms are quite useless since you'll be attacking several times per second.

And obviously fortitude but it sounds like faith is the one thing you were able to afford and you're not too wealthy apart from it...

Get a torch, it is a decent damage increase.

You can pick up a 20-X zon torch for a freaking pul.

Thanks synx I was going to ask about that. I got an um from my nm forge, so maybe I can break that into two puls and get one. If not I think *hope* I have enough in other items.

I suspect Atma's Scarab amulet can be a better option over Highlords. I haven't had a chance to confirm this, but that 5% chance to Amp damage looks delicious. In Hell that spell will triple the damage you do and break PI. I am not sure if it is enough to beat the 20 ias and deadly strike provided by Highlords though.

I use highlords for everything except bosses and cold + phys immunes, 1 point in cold arrow converts enough phys damage to knock out phys immunes fairly easily.

If you strafe a lot though, atmas is pretty beastly.

I had a pure Strafer Faithazon last ladder that I spent at lot of time and currency building and tweaking. The only thing missing was a Pride on the merc, but that's because she was already so good I decided to apply my dwindling funds toward building an Avenger. Trust me, Atma's is by far superior to any other ammy. You can go pure physical damage since it will break 99% of PIs and it triggers constantly. At level 90, she could clear a screen faster than my Hammerdin, and she was untouchable.

I forget my average damage, but it was around 2500. However, I had 72% Critical Strike, so that is like 4300 average damage. Then when Atma's triggered it was effectively 12,900 damage per arrow.

Oh my Bjam, your story has convinced me to go buy one, at least to try it out. I spent a good deal on my highlords :tongue: My one question is, will that drop my IAS too much? If you look at my equipment I'm a little... slow.

atma's sucks. you'll have whatever pack halfway dead before it procs and then i just makes the rest of their life drop a bit faster... woopie

highlords is where it's at. you get twice the damage more frequently. you also can skimp on critical strike as it works all wonky with deadly.

for pure bowa; cat's eye > highlords > everything else > atma's

I'm all confused now T_T

I was using a cats eye before, then upgraded to a highlords.

I have both max guided and strafe, use strafe for just about everything and guided for bosses/more difficult uniques. I find that most uniques (chaos sanctuary) for example, get mowed down with strafe before I even need to use guided.

As said above : Atmas for strafing/guided. Highlords for multi-spam.
