What attributes of deadly monsters should we look out for?

I'm not sure which monster attributes are the most dangerous and before I head into nm, i would like to know what to look out for : )

very fast?
very strong?
fire enchant?
lightning enchant? (i have lightning maxed so i think i should be ok?)

are these it? are there others?

The big baddies right now are "Extra Strong, Fire Enchanted." That's if you're playing in patch 1.11. Earlier ones, I think it was Multi-shot Lightning enchanted...

there are others, of course. I refuse to start playing in NM or Hell unless I have all res at 30% (going with 50%), and I don't go on to act 2 until they're all maxed.

Especially keep an eye out once you get to Hell difficulty.

The ones to look out for of course are Extra Strong, Extra Fast, Multiple Shot, and the Fire and Lightning Enchanted, conviction, and Might Aura.

Also be wary of multiple heroes near eachother. Conviction and Lower Resist can be a deadly combo.

Edit: Also, I wouldn't even start Hell difficulty if your resists aren't maxed and have a pretty decent shield. (if you are a shield usin class of course)

I didn't see cursed mentioned here, so add that to the list. Also Fanaticism. I don't think there a single (smart) player HC or SC that doesn't fear Extra Strong, Extra Fast, Cursed, Aura (Fana) enchanted Frenzytaurs.

Lighting enchanted never has worried me, when its by itself that is. LE gloams, yeah I like to stay back, LEFE, poke away Merc! Just keep in mind for some odd reason (Im sure "working as intended") something thats FELE when hit with a stun attack seems to set of its FE explosion, so stuff like Smite and Warcry hurt, especially a 105+ FCR Warcry (4k life maxed res, 3 warcries nearly killed me >_>)

About res, to me its Light>Fire>Cold>Poison. I do not like going into Hell without max light and fire at least. If your cold is lacking, theres always thawing potions. same goes for poison.

Do keep in mind though, that it really also depends on the monster with said mods. A FE fallen wouldn't be as bad as a FE Frenzytaur. Conviction fallen? No real worries, Conviction souls, watch out.

Cold encanted too, imo, big blast with large radius, not exactly sure what the bang itself consists of, but can suck alot of life away on higher lvls

Luckily there are some common items that make frost novas less dangerous(raven frost). If your char is decently set up(maxed resists) then the nastiest mods are really curse, damage auras, conviction, extra strong. Any combination of 2 of these mods can be really nasty.

The ones that scare me are extra strong FE's. . .and Gloams with a conviction aura. A hard hitting champion with a fanatacism aura is a pain also.

Probably the most important thing in HC if you are coming from SC is keeping your resests maxed. Buy some blue 25 LR boots from the vendor if you have to. It's better than some unique boots with +max mana if your resists are low. It's also better than +MF. Dead chars can't find magic items.

If you have resists maxed or close to it, then Might and Conviction and fana are the ones I port back to town to either get the orange glob off my head or resest the boss's auras (like council in Dur3)

I think it highly depends on what class/build you are playing. Was playing a druid summoner. All went good, made my way to act 5. Then I died to minotaurs in one of optional 'caves' in act 5 second zone. It was a unique pack and I think it was because of extra fast or extra strong. I was in human form, had low health, no block. Basically I raised strength to 60, rest went to vitality, but too late did I remember that druid has very low health per vitality ratio; probably had been a better idea to focus on block. Anyway I had no problems from magic effects whatsoever, don't think Diablo even hit me once thanks to bear. Lightning enchanted mobs' bolts were absorbed by my pack, I stayed at range from ice nova of cold enchanted mobs, from FE mobs, exploding dolls in act 3 were also taken care by wolves. You get the idea. My bane was melee mobs which managed to get close and land a few hits. So my advice is to actually analyze your previous experience with this particalar character, deduce what situations caused most problems and then look out for similar circumstances in NM and Hell.
