    What am I doing wrong? (trading related)

    USWest Soft-core Ladder.

    Most the day I've been sitting in trade games trying to trade away the following items for runes:

    Silkweave (Silkweave 4 Lem)
    Tal Amulet (Tal Ammy 4 Um)
    Near Perfect Jade Talon 2/2/47 (Hi JTalon 4 Pul)
    Medium Shako (Shako 4 Pul)

    In parenthesis are the game names I use. I make one of the above and sit in the game for five minutes before making another. Not ONE person has joined my game wanting to trade, or even negotiate a price. What am I doing wrong?

    Silkweave is not worth Lem
    Jade Talon is not worth Pul even high

    You're starting off your bids way too high...people figure that if this is your starting offer, then the final asking price will be beyond what they could possibly afford. You ought to take a look at a pricing guide (I believe the forums offer one for US West but I'm not certain of this fact) and base your asking prices on the lowest possible value (this will likely stimulate multiple bids which will result in you getting more for your items).

    There is always a relatively current pricing guide floating around the BNet forums for USW as well - you would do well to search for it; it tends to be a little more accurate than our own - particularly if this forum is not where you do the majority of your trading.

    Be careful about setting your asking prices too low - if only one person bids on your item, you're pretty much screwed. ;)

    the west price guide is a little out dated as far as I can tell. A near perf shako may get a pul but a mid one maybe lem. Tal ammy still seems to be ~um, maybe just bad luck. The other stuff is really buyer dependant. Just make a "Tradez" game in NM or even norm and throw them up for offer.

    What I would do is stop wasting my life trying to trade with Diablo II people... instead make friends with a rich sugar daddy or secondly block out the diablo 2 world and just mf on your own or with friends. I think you're in the addiction phase of D2, when you become a true veteran you just play the game for fun and that's when fortune will usually find you, when you're least expecting it.

    Silkweave (Silkweave 4 Lem)
    Tal Amulet (Tal Ammy 4 Um)

    Medium Shako (Shako 4 Pul)

    ===============================

    IMO:
    Silkweave = Pgems
    Tal Ammy = Pul
    Jtalon = MAX Lem
    Shako = Lem

    Don't see jade talon go for anything very often. Not many use them. I'd say pgems too.
