What about randomization?

To everyone playing the F&F/PTR/RoS Beta:

is there any hope that the upcoming patch/release will contain any level layout randomization?
Have you experienced any? I've not read any post/thread with information regarding this.

It's really sad that there is (none) so little, looking back at the previous installments of the franchise and making playing them so much more fun and in comparison it's a drag knowing where almost every exit, npc, side quest, ..., is as layout randomization was one of the trademakrs of D/D2.

Even in regard to the monsters in D3V personally I feel little to no randomization. It's like when in a cave in the Fields of Misery, etc. suddenly it's all full of them bats and their spawn thingies - a nice small change to the usual goats.

@ Blizzard I plead for increased level and monster randomization. Puh-Lees!

Thank you for your time.

Layout randomization isn't coming for Acts I-IV, but apparently in Act V there are a bunch of layouts that are mostly random, with a few 'staging points' that are fixed. As for monster randomization, that's the purpose of Rifts. Regular areas have fixed monster selections, and Rifts are completely random. Rift map design also seems to be pretty much completely random, so if you buy RoS you'll probably enjoy playing Nephalem Rifts: it sounds like everything you're asking for.

That said, I'm kind of surprised that you miss level randomization so much. Back when I played D2, the Map Hack was one of the more common hacks, and personally, I found it really annoying that areas reset. I believe, though, that random layouts would probably work better in D3 than they did in D2. In D2, I farmed bosses mostly, because they gave out the best loot. As a result, when I had a map layout that let me get to the boss quickly, farming felt smooth and uninterrupted, and when the layout reset, it was always a real drag having to explore the map again just so I could get back to farming. OTOH, in D3, most people don't run bosses; Elites are what people farm mostly. As a result, since Elites spawn randomly on the map, having the layout reset would be a lot less annoying since I wouldn't be just speeding through the area looking for the boss.

Yep, in Rifts even areas that aren't normally random get jumbled (both in layout and enemies). Flux posted a screenshot in one of his articles, showing the Dalguhr Oasis from a Rift and it had a completely different layout than what it has in Story Mode. Unfortunately I can't find the article at the moment.

Rifts are extremely random. I recently went into an rift that was looked very similar to the cursed hold map but it was honestly about 3x the size with row, after row, after row, of isles. It was also filled with Whimsyshire mobs which made it quite hilarious. Many rifts maps look similar to what you find in other zones but much more randomized. Also colors are changed in those areas too.
