Whacked out Firedin ?

    Whacked out Firedin ?

    Was just wondering... you might know I've been rambling on about a Holy Trinity party (Holy Fire/Shock/Freeze). The Holy Fire paladin basically is nowhere in sight, and we might get a replacement for him...

    With our questing and Baal-killing and stuff, the Tesladin and I have (twice) had Kinemil's Awl drop... +6 to Holy Fire...

    Would it be a completely stupendous (ignoring Rune cost) to use once upgraded twice for a Charging Firedin ?

    Two-Hand Damage: (16-18) To (50-56) (33-37 Avg)
    Required Level: 23
    Required Strength: 56
    Required Dexterity: 34
    Durability: 50
    Base Weapon Speed: [0]
    +80-100% Enhanced Damage(varies)
    +100-150 To Attack Rating(varies)
    Adds 6-(20-40) Fire Damage(varies)
    +20 To Mana
    +6 To Holy Fire (Paladin Only)

    Upgraded to Balrog Blade would give :

    55-118 base damage (110-236 for a perfect one)
    Str Req. of 185 (!) / 158 (w/ Hel Rune)
    Range 3
    Base Weapon Speed: [0]

    This would give a Fire-damage added (assuming I don't muck up calc...) of :
    @ 20 : 109-127 * 4.6 [FireRes] * 1.6 [Salv] = 802-935
    @ 26 : 145-172 * 4.6 * 1.6 = 1067-1266

    Is 265-331 dmg added.

    [Res Fire = 20, Salv = 10 - for simplicity and non-full build]

    Aura would increase from
    @ 20 : 18-21 -> 132-155
    @ 26 : 24-27 -> 177-199

    Would that be worth it, together with the (physical) damage boosted by Charge ?

    Could always have him go Ranger and use a Demonmachine or so for the explosive arrows, but this idea just tickled me.

    I LOVE deviant builds, and while I believe that that amount of fire damage just isnt enough in hell, nor, honestly, the charge damage on that two handed weapon, if you have the means go for it!!! I would love to know how it works out.

    I think the best way to make a holy fire paladin is probably with a kuko.

    Prion - most likely yes. But I'm more likely to get my hands on an Awl than a Kuko ;)

    Kitriara - I know the damage is fairly low... (Especially when compared to Holy Shock. Holy Freeze gives about the same damage, but adds that massive slow...), but it's a nice little idea... 'sides... in party of three, you get all three elements, which helps a lot with immunes, since you can just switch to a 1 point support aura if your particular aura doesn't work :)

    Would Charge boost the elemental damage too ? Or just the physical damage ? =]

    Aerath - Whoa there boy, Holy Freeze does way more damage than the sadly underpowered fire! =) Here are the numbers for each at level 20 with level 20 of each synergy:



    Holy Fire: 643 - 713 (roughly 690 average)

    Holy Freeze: 998 - 1025 with 54% slow (roughly 1010 average)

    Holy Shock: 1 - 3931 (roughly 2000 average)

    Charge would only cover the physical damage. Holy Shock is stronger but of course the drawback is the huge range... holy freeze has a VERY tight and consistent damage range. If you make a great fire build, PROPS. =)

    Kitriara - I'm running a Cold Zealot atm (decided on the zealot part after reading your guide ;)) - I just looked at his damage and deducted a bit since I was running +skills :). That, and my memory isn't quite as good as it should've been ;)

    And with Charge affecting only the actual physical damage, I'll probably have to go looking @ something else to make that build work =]
