WF strafazon, what ias to aim for

hey all, i need a bit of advise.

i am planning to get my hands on a WF soon as the combination of WF, strafe and fortitude just seems to much fun NOT to play.

i am already building my new ama for this... but the big question is how much ias to aim for? ofcource faster is better... but there comes a point when you just have to make to much of a sacrifice to get it. i have learned that fastest practical breakpoint would be 120 ias, wich would be doable IF i project the rest of my gear fully towards that.

on the other hand... i will lose a lot of stuff that helps me keep alive or MF with... and since i play hardcore staying alive is pretty important to me. however... a shorter strafelock could save my life as well...

help me out here guys... should i go for 120 ias? and if not... what then to aim for.

what's wrong with faith? Going all out on ias with an amazon just to be using windforce seems like a dangerous thing.

Seel the fort and wf and get your self a fast faith -mat?- and use treachery as armour for now. The rest of the gear can be easy. Get knockback from gloves and focus on survivabilty for the rest of your gear.

P.S. or go with silence. Not that expensive and super defensive mods. It nearly hard to get killed with a weapon like that.

Yes, 120 ias is the preferred bp and should be well worth it. Unless you're using a faith merc ofc, then you'll need less. But I can't be sure since I'm not playing hc to much.

@NASE: faith on me is not an option... i just wanna hold that WF... got something to do with "the good old times" and the feeling a wf makes me have.

@kijya: so you feel 120 ias is what i should aim for... then let me see if i can get that.
wf = 20 on boards + sheal = 40
gloves = 20
amulet = 20 (cats eye i think)

total so far = 80 so 40 more needed
leaves me with hat and belt... wich options are there to get 40 ias from these 2?

about faith on a merc... well... i dont have 1 atm... and they aint cheap. besides that... since i am HC i realy like having another tank in the form of some act 2 merc... and the might wont hurt as well. for no i think i will be doing that... and equipping him with a tomb reaver for breaking immunitys.

The expensive way is 3 ias/ed jewels in a jeweler's diadem of acceleration/the whale/etc. Mav's helm with 1 ias jewel will also work, or a helm with 2 ias jewels and a 10 IAS belt (goldwrap or nos coil). Giant skull's a bit pointless with wf as you've already got KB so I guess some magic helm larzuked with 2 sox if you want to go that route. Andariel's visage with 1 ias jewel and a nos coil would give 45, probably the best budget option.

Just to point, merc A2 will break imunities with a reapers tool, not tomb reaver.

• 45% IAS: Mavina's(1) OR Magic(3)
• 35% IAS: Andariels Visage(1)
• 30% IAS: Giant Skull(2) OR Crown of Ages(2) OR Rare(2) OR Magic(2)
• 25% IAS: Steallskull(1)
• 15% IAS: Any Non-Runeword(1)
• 00% IAS: Runewords

As for belts there's only nos coil and goldwrap that have ias.

There are three set combos that increase the ias you gain from your glove slot: death's set combo gloves + belt gives 30 ias total, and IK's glove + belt can give 25, sigons glove + boots can give 30.

You are hardcore, are you going to use strafe often? Stafelock is dangerous thing, multi is much safer.

Why not go with simply 90 ias? That gives you a 9fpa multi, although a /3 strafe. Yet you gain much survivability.

Lets, see. If you use a 45 ias helm, helms aren't that super usefull, although some add much res. Anyway, look at this.

When you use 45 ias helm, you can use loh and cat's eye. Total ias, 45+20+20+20 = 105. Put a life leech rune in your windforce. That makes your rings slot open dwarfs star/raven and the belt for t-gods. Gives you the most important absorbs. Get a nice tripple res pair of boots and fill res on with charms.
Or
45 ias from helm and cat's eye, put sheal in wf. Total ias is the same 105, though now you have your gloves slot open for something nice. Dracs is one options. Play safe untill life taps triggers, once life tap triggers. Getting killed might actually become a challenge. And if you really want, you can thrust on dracs for all the life leech you need, and again use all the absorb from rings/belt as you may ever want.
Or,
4 ias form helm, sheal and loh. Opens amulet for high res thing. And you can again use all the absorb you want. Only problem will be life leech, though a crafted blood amulet might solve this a little bit.
