Well, this is my build so far. Recommendations?

Hello! ^_^ I'm new to all the new patches, I recently re-bought Diablo 2 LOD for my girlfriend and I to get away from all the new generation games that don't stack up.

I'm from the older days, so I'm not so sure if my older style is going to work with all these fancy Synergies. >.<

>>My Stats so far<<

Level 25

Strength: 60.

Dexterity: 50

Vitality: 45

Energy: 50

>>Skills<<

Amplify Damage: 1

Teeth -Prereq. 1, completely useless to me.-

Corpse Explosion: 1

Skeleton Mastery: 10

Raise Skeleton: 2

Raise Skeleton Mage: 3

Clay Golem: 1

Golem Mastery: 7

>>>>.<<<<

This is all without my +Skill gear.

So, any advice is welcome. ^_^ Thanks. BTW, I don't like to rely on Abilities from armor so much, because searching for that one special armor I need makes me go insane >.>

Now, I'm really going to go insane. As I was typing this up, I made a private game. -NO one has entered- Playing in a window--- Dropped all my gear to record all the hard points on my skills and attributes, and my Weapon King's Grace & Necromancer's preserved head disappeared! I checked the message log and no one has entered, it just vanished. >.> Grrr...... Sometimes I hate Diablo. Stupid little Fetishes must've done it. They stole my stuff >.< Lol......

Dropping gear is very unsafe, plus items disapear over time. BTW I think your necromancer is broke. I'm a more make the best build possible but almost nobody puts points in Energy.

Double posts are frowned upon here, you can edit your original message within an hour if no one responds.

As for the items, before going aboslutely any further, you'd best read the update notes for 1.10 and .11. In order to reduce resources, Blizzard placed a new timelimit system on grounded items. Mundanes, with or without gems/jewels/runes/runewords in them or having staffmods and such, disappear within ten minutes. You walk away to fix food, use the bathroom, or answer the phone and you'll come back to an empty floor.

I'm not interested in a God-like Overlord to play in Hell, Nightmare is fun, Hell, with any character, is HELL. Yeah, I know people can do it, but it's too stressful for me.

Older builds usually don't work so well. I tried a Zookeeper w/ old Iron Maiden and Blood Golem combo very, very early on after coming back, because I thought it was a good standby. However, modified Summoners do work very well, like the Fishymancer, Lord of the Magi, Summoner/Poison/Bone hybrids, or a Corrupted Televangelist (Revive + Thorns + Amp combo).

You can still build a good Fishymancer with a powerful golem from your skills layout. Max Raise Skeleton, Skeleton Mastery, Corpse Explosion, and Golem Mastery, getting the golem of your choice (Iron Golem is what I'd recommend with such a heavy investment into Golem Mastery, unless you really dig a Fire or Clay Golem). Or divert points from Golem Mastery into Raise Skeleton Magi for more skelly firepower.

I absolutely love Fire Golems, and hate relying on Iron Golems because they are hard to keep summoning if they continuously die from Bosses.

It is only hell with a lack of playing skills. Necros of all thing should be able to do it easily, even in HC. Honestly though, I would also recommend a summon necro. It might be overlord style, but at least it can kill. If all you do is intend to kill in nightmare, I would say just go with an orb sorc or a javazon, and just pwn everything you see in seconds. The act of building a necro itself in my eyes is intending to do hell, and get gear for your other characters to do hell.

And yes, you did double post. Double post means posting in quick succession in the same thread (usually within a few hours), regardless of whether the content is different or not. The only exception is that if the 1 hour editing mark has passed, and you have something significant to contribute (usually means lots of words), or that you wrote so much that it won't fit on 1 post.

My $0.02

Strength: Depending on what you're planning for the future, this is not completely out of line. But a Fishy can get by very nicely with only 30. That much allows them to wear Breast Plates, which are the lowest str req of all 3os armors. (Lowest 4os is GOthic Plate at 70 str req.)

Dex: Unless you're intending to go max block, or use a weapon, like a bow or dagger, that has a high dex requirement, dex is going to do you absolutely no good whatsoever.

Energy: I think most would agree that these are the most wasted points of all.

Vitality: It's almost impossible to put too much here.

Skills: The Fishy has a lot of "leftover" points. Which means you can still salvage a Fishy out of it, but it will take a little longer. (i.e. "finish" at ~70 instead of ~60).

But really, because of the way you've allocated the stats (str/dex/nrg/vit), I'd say rebuild and follow NightFish's guide. You should be able to get back up to level 25 in only an hour or so of playtime. And although I wouldn't recommend it, you can still put the skill points in exactly the same places. You'll just have a "healthier foundation" for the character.

If you like Fire Golem, I'd recommend just 1 point into Golem Mastery and Fire Golem then, and switch between him and Gumby (Clay Golem) as you need. Fire Golem for 95% of adventuring and Clay Golem vs. bosses or toughies who need Slow. This is what I did before I decided finally on a mana golem.

Be aware that your Fire Golem will be almost unable to kill anything in Hell. His fire and physical damage are pitiful. However, his Holy Fire aura makes him great for drawing attention to himself, so that many or most enemies will target him, and not your Merc, skellies, or Necro. It's the same principle as "moths drawn to the flame" (i.e., the power of attraction toward your blob of minions, so that enemies can die faster while you remain safer).
