i dont think it will work though (have new wireless broadband) ive only tried to host with it once before and it didnt work - just hoping that maybe if its given another chance.. fingers crossed :)

EDIT: game down.. yeah thought it wouldnt work..
i dont have a router or anything i think its to do with the way the wireless modem works but ill definetly check out the MP guide :thumbsup:

Alrighty ive got port 4000 opened on my firewall so will try to host once more - if it doesnt work this time ill quit trying hehe :rolleyes:

also have a character in act 4 normal

Hosting act IV Hell then doing baal run for a couple of hours. I'd really like it if someone could at least get me trough act IV.

Yeah.. just to put a game up.. can someone help me out? I have trouble hosting lately but I found some new IP's :confused:
so.. if someone could try them out and tell me if they work or not? please !

10.0.0.150 <- D2 IP
84.81.213.224 <- IP given by whatismyip.com
195.121.1.34 <- Primary DNS (whatever that may mean)
195.121.1.66 <- Secondary DNS (uh... yeah)

Try em out.. if you can connect I'll see you ingame (just a level 1 char, nothing special) and if you can't please post here :thumbsup:

@NF below, thanks.. dammit.. I don't even know if my sis has a FW. :rolleyes: ah well back to the drawing boards, there has got to be a way huh?

If it is a windows firewall open up control panel, and and switch to classic view, there should be an icon named firewall, open it up and make sure game.exe is allowed an exception, also make sure exceptions are allowed, if not, look in the start menu for programs like norton, macfee, or eztrust to name a couple, and look to see if those programs are installed, if you know which one i can walk you through a step by step procedure to allow diablo2.

Usually the problem if you have DSL though is they provide a firewall function to block hosting of games, and you have to pay an extra $10us here to have an ip that can host games. I would recomend calling the service provider if you can't host after you check for firewall

If you're still in Act 3 Normal I'd be happy to give you a hand if the game goes back up? If not, anyone else willing to play act 3 normal?
