Weapon physics - gusts of air?

I was taking another look at the initial gameplay video (to remind myself about the trapped chest for the other thread) and noticed an interesting environmental interaction that I had overlooked before. The video below highlights what I'm talking about.

"The curtain didn't move one inch to the left enough! D3's unrealistic!"

XD Great find though. I never noticed it before. I recall WW had a momentum factor to it, so hopefully skills take full use of the Havok engine. Or maybe it's a hint at even more environmental interaction than we've taken note of before? Either way, I hope I can burn the tapestries XD

I would've expected most people had seen it, given that Blizzard put it there for the single purpose of showing off their curtain ragdoll physics - which will matter a great deal in the final game, I'm sure :) nah but it's a neat little touch.

    Oh no you didn't!

Kidding aside, I'm waiting for someone to go "how come the curtain is moving but the flame of the torch isn't?" Come on, step right up! Don't be shy!

Little things like this go a long way towards creating immersion (or at least preventing it from losing immersion). It's one of the things I loved about Metroid Prime. Little things like rain drops appearing on your visor when you moved through the rain or looked up at the sky, your visor fogging up in steamy areas, the reflection of Samus' face when something bright flashed in front of you. All things that made you feel like you were in the suit.

To fullfill Moonfrost's prophecy: That torchlight next to the curtain isn't moving AT ALL... I'm unsure if I'm going to buy D3 now!

Really? You didn't notice the giant hat? (If you see it you gonna **** brix)

Srly though, weird you never noticed the physics, it's like all the people that never noticed the Siegebreaker in the dungeon before the fight.

Yeah, I didn't notice that the warhammer created a gust of air that moved the drapes around the bookshelf. Not that I didn't notice the physics they added to the game in general. Was more focused on the spiffy gear and giant flaming warhammer before.

I didn't notice the Siegebreaker the first time, but that's because I was sneaking in a low-res view at work the day of the announcement. Quality wasn't great so it just blended into the shadows.

You'll want to witness the siegebreaker snatch wiki page, while you're on the topic. And yes, I giggle every time I think of that page name. Much as Elly did the other day, when she pointed me to the "semi-hardcore mode" thread on the B.net forum.
