Weapon choices for a DualDream Sorc~

As the titles says, I'm planning on whipping up a DualDream sorc to play around with. I've never really made a proper one - I've had Dreams thrown onto my light sorc for a bit of fun, but never actually created a character out of it, so I thought it was time to make one properly.

I've got most of the build/idea laid out and planned, but the one thing I am having a slight problem is, is the weapon choice, and in particular, dealing with lightning immunes.

Now, I know a lot of people will simply say "get an Infintiy merc" which is reasonable. I do have Infinity, but it is planted on my Pure Light MF Sorc who puts it to good use. So, what I'm after is options without using Infinity.

Here's what I've come up with so far, any suggestions or feedback would be great.

Beast in a Warspike or Caduceus
I chose these because of their base -10 speed, and decent average damage. Caddy has 70 durability which is nice to have on a weapon that isn't indestructible. It also spawns 5 max sockets, so making it will be easier/cheaper. Beast has an innate 40% IAS which makes it even faster. If I turn into the Bear I won't reach that 5FPA/95 IAS breakpoint, but I should come close.

Breath of the Dying in an Ethereal Berserker Axe.
Most popular choice I believe. Huge damage and with the 60% IAS from Botd, makes it generally fast. Also comes with those lovely mods.

Call to Arms in an Elite Scourge, Caduceus or Warspike
Keeping with the -10 WSM theme, I've come up with these choices. CTA also comes with the 40% IAS mod, so it should help bring down the FPA. Decent mods, and added +BO is always nice.

Grief Phase Blade
Fast. Powerful. ITD. What's not to like?

Other/More Expensive options
Doom
Famine
Hand of Justice
Kingslayer
Death
Destruction
Oath

As you can see, I'm trying to figure out the fastest + most powerful melee weapon available to deal with Lightning Immunes. I'm sure each of these can be used well, but I'm hoping others out there have better opinions on them, and which would be better with the build. At the moment I'm leaning towards Beast or CTA because they have more than 1 use, but I am open to other options too.

I've only been playing a DualDream sorc for, well, 24 hours or so. But so far, I've not met a lightning immune that I couldnt take care of with my enchant damage. Are you not using enchant?

I was trying the sorc out with my grief, but now I'm just sticking to passion, and it works well.

I could see fire+light immunes being a problem, but you could focus on your merc killing them.

So in short, my advice is Passion Phase Blade for general weapon, and enchant to take care of light immunes.

To be honest, I'm still in the planning stage of gathering equips and items using my higher level characters. I will be using a Maxed Enchant for my girl, though I wasn't too sure how high the fire damage would get.

All in all, I'd like to have a fast weapon for dealing out that elemental damage (Such as a Shael'd PB) and a high physical damage weapon on switch for dealing with those that are resistant to Lightning/Fire/Magic. I'm slowly heading towards a Bear Sorc right now, but I'd like to keep my options open for the time being before committing to using that Ber rune =S

Well, as far as the fast weapon for primary use, I'd still recommend the Passion for zeal.

Although... A grief may be a good idea. You aren't using infinity, so AR may be a problem, unless you are using angelic rings/ammy or something else with high AR. I know, if my infinity merc dies, I definitely have issues hitting. Grief would probably also suffice for taking out those pesky fire/light immunes. Seems like a good choice overall to me, but I have a grief, I have none of the other things you mentioned =/

I totally forgot all about the -defense % on Infinity. Gah, so stupid. Makes me want to reconsider either making a new Infinity, or throwing a Doom on a Blessed Aim Merc for Holy Freeze + AR Bonus with BA.

I'll see how I go for now, if I find any difficulty I'll re-assess the situation and see what happens.

Glad I could help you see something you were missing. The BA+Doom doesn't sound like a bad idea, at all.
