Want to join a clan.

Hey everyone. I'm new to these forums but I've been playing D2 since it came out. But anyways, I'm looking for a good, friendly RPG type clan to join. I rarely play on Closed Bnet anymore since someone hacked my account and took all the items I busted my yoohoo to get. So I'm looking for an Open or tcp/ip clan. I like roleplaying on D2 cause it adds some flavor to the game and I like to use my imagination. I maybe 25, but I'm a child at heart. lol. :lol: So anyways, let me know if you got a clan I can join. Thanks.

Well there is really no "clans" here but they do have a MP thread stickied to the top of ths SPF for all of your MP needs. You may wanna keep your eyes open for tourneys and MP groups like the campfire group. They usually start together when they are formed but as a general rule this is a community and we just break into groups when we want to MP, so there is no real "clans" here.

By the way welcome to the forum and maybe you should write an intro post letting us know something about you and how you play D2. :howdy:

I haven't been close attention, but I don't think there are a lot of clans running around the Single Player Forum. MP games are advertised in the MP games thread stickied at the top of the page, and usually everyone can join (although if its a SP Ladder game, use a SP Ladder character). Every now and then someone starts a team to quest through the game as a group. But as for traditional battle.net "we'll only let you into the secret clubhouse if you pass the initiation ritual and learn the secret handshake" style clans - not a lot of those around here.

Never been in a clan, so i don't know what they typically offer, and i also don't know what exactly you were looking for in a clan. But this place has a lot to offer, such as:

- Regular organized MP games
- If you got a question, D2-related or not, a dozen people's got answers (good thought-out ones too)
- Item giveaways for the newer players
- Durf to blame for all your woes

Thanks guys. When I say clan, I don't mean like some big organized group. I'm basicaly just looking for a group of people/friends who just play together and have fun. But anyways, what yall've told me sounds really good. So yall just get together with whoever and start an RP campaign or something along those lines? Well if I can join in on any or if anyone wants to start one, let me know. Thanks again guys.

Thanks. Oh and by the way, before I forget, I'm Edynol but yall can call me Edy. I'm a Wiccan and I've been playing D2 since the 1st month it came out. I play LOD but sometimes I'll play classic just for kicks. lol. I like RPing and tinkering around with game mods. Like right now, I'm using this plug-in that allows you to equip your merc with a belt, gloves, 2 rings, an amulet, boots, and different weapons (i.e. an act1 merc with a crossbow, and act3 merc with a wand or an act5 merc with a hammer.) I can give anyone the files if yall are interested, but they only work in single player and Open Bnet.

That sounds like a fun mod dude Just one thing tho; most people here prefer the game in its "pure" form, especially when it comes to trading. So if you want to get into the trading scene, please let people know if/when you trade items found with the mod. Just FYI

Well besides the hireling modifications, it's just standard D2:LOD. Besides that, I like to play it the way it's meant to be played. I mean, haven't ya ever found like an amulet or ring that was basicly useless for you but you think, "Man, this would go good with my merc." It doesn't give ya any real advantage over other players, but it WILL help your merc survive and endure the hard stuff. See, yall may think I'm weird for this, but I look at my merc as a friend and companion. Kinda dorky I know, but hey.

seriously though- mods can be discussed, and screenies posted if they're interesting, you just can't post info on how to do it, or links to mod sites. as others have said, so long as you are up front about it, and don't trade from a modded game, there shouldn't be any problems. Check out the faq stickie and find the link for game affecting techniques, it should clarify what you can/can't post discuss, and if all else fails, ask our moderator before posting.

Thanks. And yeah, I was gonna post a link to the site that offers those files but didn't cause they have forums of their own and it's unethical to advertise other forums on a forum board. Learned that a few years back. lol. And thanks again for the welcome.

Edy: As for mods a fair amount of other players here are purist when playing the game they don't like others playing with mods. But as AE will tell you "your free to do what ever you want on your own machine."

When MPing either play with chars that never used mods or let the others know your char used a mod. Its not fair to use a mod when MPing unless everyone is using that mod. It just makes things easier when being upfront with everyone about it. Oh as for trading you probably will be on some people do not trade list.

By the way that does sound like a fun mod. :thumbsup:
