    Virus+computer=bad day

yesterday was realy unlicky day, no D2:(
and those damn trojan, worms, virus they infected even my ant-virus lol. yesteray I couldn't even make anything with the comp, all files with .exe were disabled also my IExplorer. I have another operating system on my comp, so I decided to run an online anti-virus scan, they detected about 4k infected files, and after cleaning them the anti-virus couldn't clean 40 files (which I think the dupliactor file for the virus). So after a while I decided just to format my c drive, and after few hours working on the pc, lastly my comp is healthy:D and I can host MP again:)

Hey no offence intended...plus I am very tired.

Is that sacred armour something traded TO Usa? Shouldn't mules be destroyed to stop duping?

Forgive me if I've offended. Time to hit the sack.

That is true, Milamber. Most people delete their mules right away after sending it. However, there is a sent items folder that usually catches all outbound emails and copies them. I don't think people clean those files often. I don't deelte them there in case a person loses the email or it is lost in transit. I just let them delete automatically with time. :)

ouch, so i guess thatvirus you were talkign about wa more serius, or several viruses. ive had 1 virus thatautmatically disables any knwon antivirus sofware, then downloads stuff. i saw it happening and was thinking 'oh ****' but i managed to disconnect the internet before many files were downloaded, then installed a little-known butverygood antivirus that found most of them whcih gave me control of norton again.
soicame close to formatting, but no its all under control.

    ooops
it happened to me a while ago, all *.exe weren't executables. Started the PC (failure proof?) I've ran a .bat file (you also could do it from the command prompt) and started regedit, there I changed the default for .exe to %1 IIRC and fine. Spybot S&D and the antivirus did the work then
(I'm posting this if someone have he same problem in the futue)
sorry to hear that you have to reformat the HD, LMK if you need something

ps I've noticed that AVG works better thatn Norton, in my experience

I normally delete them upon confirmation, but the sacred armor is still sitting there, on the mule, and has no intention of leaving it. It "technically" is no longer in my possession, and therefore I will not use it.

I also sometimes keep mules for a while just in case of a snafu.
