Verdict on the ladder reset?

Seems like a pretty anti-climatic ladder reset compared to resets past. Although it just occured to me that with no patch then of course nothing is changed, although supposedly it's clean for a while at least. Excuse me while I think aloud.

Carry on.

Although I am interested in thoughts and opinions on the wonderfulness or not as the case may be with the ladder reset.

How's everybody doin'?

I think part of it has taken as long as it has, many people have left to do other things so the anticipation is/was lacking.

Well, I wouldn't say "resets past", this one is like season 2.

And no, it's not nearly as fun as season 1&3 were, and it's because of the lack of patch so TPPK was rampant almost instantly, people were running baals almost instantly thanks to mh/chix (which they were getting banned for in 1/3).

Oh, and the popularity of that other trading site we can't link to... rich people were rich instantly thanks to a transferable currency.

It's still fun though... I'm getting charms and jewels pretty cheap still, so meh ^^

Edit: Also 1/3 sparked a lot of build discussion. Season one of course was a huge change to the way the game was played in general, but season 3 also had all the strategizing on how to get around to soloing the ubers... 2/4 haven't had any changes like that so no swarm of people on the forums trying to figure out builds, just the handful that have decided to give HC a go this time around.

In other words: Its still Cheat-Ville, USA. Say, Zappa, could you wriggle your fingers and get me back in my old account? I've had little succes talking to Rush, as I doubt he ever looks at his PM's.

If Diablo 3 comes out, I sure as hell hope it'll be like diablo 2, just better of course, and with added new features, like multi-classing for example

I'd sure love that, I'd be all over it ^^

*mumbles something about a damn monthly fee that will ruin it all*

The ladder reset even with no changes almost got me back. It is at least a nice 2-3 day race if you have the time to try and do it its a blast. After that you probably got a month of so of good fun then probably back to the same stuff you were doing before the reset.

Well, I'm planning on doing non-ladder-reset A1 normal to A5 hell sessions with a
full game every now and then. Basically, get 8 people to run through the whole
game untwinked (10-12 hours) in one sitting, on a random Saturday / Sunday or
something. That's what I did on the ladder reset, and damn it was awesome.

It'll be insane amounts of eye-bleeding, but insane amounts of fun.

Maybe even a wee PVP fest at the end!

This avoids all the "every Monday from 8pm to 10pm" schedule difficulties, mimics a
reset (cooperative untwinked teamwork), and hey - PVP at the end (if you're into
that). Alternatively, keep the char, run it into the ground or up the ladder for later.

Watch for these posts. Everyone who's gone "Sure" on the polls here and here
will be contacted! Vote up Stinger, would love to have you on the team : )

Have seen you post for YEARS. Don't think I've ever been in a game with you.

Well, if I can find my other LOD disk I might be up for that, hell 10-12 hours is nothing for me on a weekend......I might make the effrot to dig, I need a little break from GW.

no promises.....

The new ladder is fun because it is a fresh start. It was nice to retire my level 80s peacefully as opposed to them dying. I am having a blast slowly taking my underpowered Strafezon through Nightmare currently.

If you mean clean as in not many dupes, I cannot comment.

As far as hacks go, EHCL has been quarantined by the CDC.
Its dirtier than <insert your favorite vile metaphor here>.

After level 20, anyone with any amount of HC street smarts will not enter an area with someone they do not know personally. TPPK hacks are like hotmail accounts, everyone has one and they are easy to get.

I was plodding along with my new Barb in a public normal game yesterday and 2 guys were chatting about how to properly code a Pindle bot. It was funny because they were so casual about it.

"I added a if-then-else statement to line 2"
"Yeah, that's a good idea"

My Favorites:

Normal public game titles and the players who populate them:
-Act 1 now Urmommas_Mine Amazon 78
-Free Items Blizz_Assasin Sorceress 54
-Tele Baal 02 Corspegrinder Druid 62

Some people in another game yesterday were discussing who the "best" TPPKers were. It is a hack. It is not a skill.

Welcome to Battle.net.

So last night I was in a chant game.

I was off on my own in some cave in A5 not chanted (well, not by the chanter) and they were all in their teens, I was paying attention and ready to leave if someone showed up on my map of course but not too worried.

____ Was Slain by KevinOverEast
KevinOverEast: I ran you over cuz I was bored
KevinOverEast: Go to <obviously not linking it> for triggers
KevinOverEast: You won't regret it

or something to that extent

Then he started discussing, with the guy he'd just tppked (as a level 18 in a chant game... no rest for them >.>) where to get the script and how to set it up. The TPPK victim seemed quite giddy about the prospect of TPPKing.

Then 30 seconds later
____ Was Slain by Chantjobs (the chanter)
____ Was Slain by <forget his name>
Followed by the trigger spam from the guy who's name I forgot.

And then 10 more minutes of discussion on how to get the triggers up and running by just about everyone in the game.

It made me laugh and cry all at once.

I'm not sa big fan of tatoos myself (as in, I got so many freckles any tattoo will drown), but I must say that's some quality work there Zappa. Nice colors, good outline, and a nice theme. Very, very cool.

Oooh, aahhhh, actually... YEAH! I got a beauty

last fall... let me see if I can post it... (it's on the upper part of my right bicep)
