Venom and on-gear poison damage

Just a quick question - does on-gear poison damage (in this case 37 PD over 2 seconds from a poison facet) affect the damage or absorb time of the Venom skill at all, or is it added up separately? I plan on using a 3x poison facet Nat's armor on my WWSin, so I was wondering if the facets would affect the venom skill in a negative way at all.

With poison damage from items, the duration of Venom always stays at 0.4 seconds. The damage added from those items only counts over these first 0.4 seconds. So 37 over 2 seconds would become 7.4 over 0.4 seconds.
