Vengence and Holy Shock?

Vengence and Holy Shock?

Well first off, this is my first post, so Hi everyone. I'm not really new to the forums. I just never had the need to post. Anyway, I've done alot of searching through posts and reading the certain builds of Paladins, but I still havn't come across a thread about using Vengence and Holy shock as the main attack and Aura. I'm at level 40 right now and I do a considerable amount of damage considering I just beat baal and havnt even started the game on Nightmare yet. I do a min. damage of 554 and max damage of 1274. I kill champion moon lords in 2 hits...sometimes 1 because i have a 45% chance of crushing blow. (Thats only because I have a awesomemaul that does 102-152 damage, and has alot of special attributes to it)

Well to get on with it, why havnt I seen to many people use the Vengence/Shock combo? Is it not that good or just not common? Shock deals alot alot of damage and Vengence multiplies it. I was thinking of doing this.

Vengence-20 pts
Holy Shock- 20pts
Resist Lighting-20pts

Then put 10 pts into the other skill(cant think of it right now sorry..its late) that adds bonuses to it. Also with all those pts in those skills, FoH gets lots of bonuses. And thats what I use for bosses. To me this seems like a really good set up but I guess I could be missing something....

It might work good , but 5-10p in the other resist auras would fit in like a glove in that build , and the rest in HolyShield (the best gddmn pally skill :) )

Alright I will do that. Does anyone else have any input. I would really like to know since Im starting nightmare and I dont want to screw myself for the future.

well vengeance does not multiply shock. Venegeance multiplies based on weapon damage and +damage from gear. Vengeance doesn't pay attention to Holy Shock or shocking charms at all.
Even so, You should be inflicting considerable damage.
It's just not the optimal combination is why you haven't seen it before.
Tell us how it goes.

Builds based on elemental auras succeed because of speed. Those build can deal a good amount of damage due to its attack speed. You can't compare 1 blow every 8 frames (vengeance max speed) with 5 blows in 24 frames (zeal max speed) or even 1 blow every 4 frames, like Bob_TheMadCow's Tesladin Bear (awesome build btw).
So, I think you are going to suffer in Hell a little, but eh!!, no guts, no glory :D

Usually conviction adds much more damage than holy shock and also lowers defense of monsters so much that you hardly need any attack rating.

After talking to some people I decided to change my skill point plan a little. It will look like this

Vengence-10pts
Holy Shock-20pts
Resist Lighting-20pts
Cold Resist-5pts
Fire Resist- 5pts
Conviction-10-15pts
Holy Shield -5-10pts

Does that sound better?

It seems like you are combining a Tesladin and an Avenger.
Tesladin works with many hits (zeal) with a lot of extra lightning damage (Holy Shock)
Avenger works with huge elemental damage (vengeance) with very low monster resistance (Conviction)

What you build get is relatively slow, massive elemental (mainly lightning) damage.
1 hit per click.
It's not the best combination imo, but you can give it a go.

I would go for a Tesladin with vengeance+convic as backup.
I'm making that one now. I finally got a CMPB (183% ED :rant: ).

I dunno I kinda liked his original build best, it just sounds fun to me. I don't think there is a point in having convition if oyu have maxed and synergized HS.

20 Vengeance
20 Holy Shock
20 Res Light
20 FoH
Rest into BA or Holy Shield or something...

Ha! Evil doers beware!

Yeah, I just read up on conviction and if I have that on I wont be able to use holy shock. I will probably put more pts into the resists and then holy shield instead of conviction. Im just worried about the mana drain that will come with 20 pts into vengence. Oh and does putting more points into FoH make it use more mana. All I know is FoH uses a hell lot of mana already.
