ok, so, im currently playing a v1.09 SIN, and I have no idea which direction to put her in. one thing's for sure, she isnt gonna be pvp... and not much of a trapper (its kinda boring, but less strenuous on the hands)

so, im wondering, of all the SIN builds for 1.09, 1.10, 1.11, which skills are good for this?

i think poison stacking was nerfed sometime, so, venom+PSN charm abuse isnt gonna last long for me, if I choose to play 1.11 instead

SMaster was nerfed or powered up in 1.1

ClawMastery bug (like the barb's weapon mastery of 100% double strike bug) is fixed already?

since I have Phoenix already maxed, I should AT LEAST get the CoT maxed for my synergy (main crowd killer)


so i would already have:
20 PHoenix, 20 CoT
I still have 40 pts left, including the quests

so, where should I put them to be safe? disregarding what version im going to play?

DTail for CB boss killer?
Fist of Fire for meteor stack boss killer?


I really want venom though... but PSN charm stacking is gonna get nerfed when I switch patches :(

oh yeah, where can I find a bartuc's cutthroat and natalya's totem and suwayyah?

I already have the armor... i've got a MF barb than can take on any boss easy... except diablo... he has too much HP, or MSLEs

has some 400-450 MF







main question is::
what are some significant item and skill changes that's gonna heavily affect my build?

I've never played 1.09 seriously, so I can't answer those questions.

Venom is still a useful skill, although poison from other sources does practically nothing for a 'sin because of the capped duration.

As for item dropping odds:
NM Baal has the best odds of dropping Bartuc's and Nat's totem, but Hell Meppy isn't far behind. I'd go for him.
Nat's claw is TC87, which says it all.

EDIT: I wasn't looking closely enough. Nat's totem actually has the best odds at the Hell Cow King.

For 1.10/1.11... Fade is a good one, as is Shadow Master. Shadow Master is also very usable in 1.09. A fwe points in Death Sentry will never hurt you either, as will a fwe points to get to that err, whats the name of that skill agian, Mind blast, that's it.

Resistances isnt much of a problem, as I've got a runner/farmer to get me stuff off hell meph

right now at nightmare, i've got 80 fire, all max, ... not sure about magic though :X

so I wont be putting any in fade(yet), as I could get the supplementary resist with equips


i think my problem is dealing with lightning immune packs that I will be having a hard time with using lightning-phoenix (I tend to just hoard exp off tightly packed low HP areas, like flayer jungle, tombs of tal rasha) the 2nd charge of phoenix is my main skill

and with singular tough enemies, champions, uniques, SUniques, i just use spammed meteor-phoenix... the problem are a few fire immune strong monsters


aside from those, what do I REALLY need?
i know that im gonna need a shadowmaster on baal's throne, and hell duriel and diablo
so thats a given

claw mastery is not needed, as is WBlock, as im not yet sure if im going dual claw route


but I dont want to invest in death sentry, as it has a lot of requirements, and I dont have the stamina to go for level 85+

so, what else is out there?

Phoenix, CoT, SMaster, 1 CoS - Primary skills
FoFire?, Venom?, BoS/Fade - Secondary?

oh yeah, I have no finisher. I just switch to normal attack with a big heavy weapon to release (slvl 1 (+8, MA/Sin skills))tiger strike on fire immunes, or whenever i feel like using TS

This is 1.09, right? Don't bother with FoF, unsynergised it won't do anything. Just dump meteors with Pstrike instead (freeze them with charge 3 if you don't want them moving). Natalyas set will be fine, but don't count on getting the claw or armour any time soon (especially the claw). If you get your hands on tucs, I'd advise shoving some points into claw mastery, and probably dragon claw as well. Otherwise, t strike is a fine option. Shop for a cruel <elite 2h of choice, preferably heavy and slow>, and keep it on switch to release the t-strikes with.

Get a few into death sentry. Think of it as passive corpse explosion. It's 1.09, you have the points. It only has... 3-4 pre-reqs, and you only need a few points (depending on your +skills, you could leave it at 1) to make it really effective. Get some into fade, and use it. Untwinked, IMO the resistances are better than speed benefits from BoS.
