USWEST [scL] - All-day/night Leveling Party needed, seeking experienced players!

Hi everyone -- first time posting in this neck of the boards, but I'm a fairly known persona down in the USWest trading forum. To give you my credentials, I've been playing D2 for seven years now and built just about every character that can be built.

Here's what's up: the minute the ladder resets on Monday and the realms come back, I will be looking to do an all-night, all-day run until I get at least one character into the 80s or higher. I'm now looking for serious, experienced players who are completely committed to the same goal... in fact, if you have been through one of the previous ladder resets and know the drill... damn, get in touch with me. I'm talking about walking the entire game, getting every WP, and prepping a character to rush others, MF, and do Baal & Chaos runs... whatever it takes to get us all back to the top. :)

Right now there are 2 people: myself and a friend with similar experience/playing skill. So, either I need to recruit another 5-6 people to join us, or we need to hook up with an established leveling party that's already set. It doesn't matter either way, and I have no ego about the thing...

Okay, so... if you have a party set up and need 2 veterans, post below or PM me, etc, and let me know. Or, if you like what you've read above and are interested in joining the squad - and hopefully remember how to play this game without the benefit of rushing or twinking - same drill, post below, make yourself known.

Count me in with a windy druid. That can change depending on the makeup of the rest of the party.

Wow! I've actually gotten a better response to this than I'd hoped... a lot of private PMs. I'll take a moment to address some of the questions in those PMs and give an update on what's going on.

Q: What character are you playing?
A: A Hammerdin. Sigh. Yes, it is my least favorite build. Yes, I hate the fact that everyone has one of these. And yes, as a builder of characters, I cannot ignore the fact that it's extremely safe, powerful, and not reliant upon gear. Hitting the major breakpoints for this character is not difficult at all. IMO, the build simply has the most guarantees, including the ability to perform Baal runs.

Right now there are 3 confirmed players and I'm talking with at least 5 more of you. Here is our current lineup, based on build:

1 Hammerdin
1 Orb/Blizz Sorc
1 Windy Druid
1 Warcry/WW Baba*

As I told another player earlier, the builds really aren't that important... I'm more than willing to go with 8 Hammerdins if necessary, as long as the PLAYERS are skilled, committed, and can deal with doing this the old-fashioned way.

If this was a wish list and I could cherry pick? I'd kill to have a fully-built Chantress on the team... along with an expert Chaos-runner (I've seen expert builds in Hdin and Trapsins, but I'm honestly not sure what the best build is for pure Hell Chaosing). So, being a pragmatist, I have to assume the worst and say we're going Baaling like everyone else... unless something different happens along the way.

Also important... there will be very strict guidelines on how gear is to be divided. I am an honest player and I expect others to behave as I do... and since everyone is starving for gear right now, everyone should get a piece of the action. Obviously, common sense will prevail first... Occys go to Sorcs, HOZes go to Pallys, etc., but beyond that, everything else will be divvied up fairly and unique drops will function on a round-robin system. The point of this party is not to MF or build gear yet, it's to level up so we can do that later on our own time.

More updates later. Please post here if you're interested, but also post some information about yourself and why you think you'd make a good addition to the team... what makes you a great player?

Oh, one more Q/A. Someone asked me what the ultimate goal of this all was. Ideally? We play for XX straight hours until everyone is level 80-85 and has completed their build and gotten every waypoint. Everyone can go their separate ways at that point; some of you will be looking to make the Ladder list and continue advancing in levels... others want to build other characters to level 80 so they can hunt Ubers, etc. As long as everyone in the party gets past the first "hump" of creating a strong character without gear or rushing, I think we'll be okay. :)

Important Update

0830 Pacific, Monday, still no reset yet...

#1: Party is more than half full but we still have a few spots open, and I'm still talking with some of you. Please PM me or msg me... my acct is *xsavant (pre-reset).

#2: Contact Info: I've been asked to post contact info, so here it is... my account post-reset will be *SAVANT. The group will be in the chat channel Op LevelQuest in case you want to wander in. The games WILL be password protected, though, regardless of numbers.

We will probably begin the leveling within an hour of the realms coming back online, no later. If you're just reading this now and are interested, get ahold of me. See you Westies online! //S

Other than working 5-9 tonight, I'm up for it, though I probably won't be able to make it all the way to 80 with you guys due to more work on Tues. Been playing since 1.00. Will be on *dorkone till reset

Right now we have: Hdin - Cold Sorc - Windy - Baba - Summoner

Talking with a Zealer and a Lite Sorc too... but feel free to jump in here. Want to play a Trapsin? (grin)

As for the scheduling thing, because Blizz screwed this up so royally by not committing to a time... I'm not expecting anything out of people except what they can give. In other words, no hard feelings for those who pass out at XX:XX am. All I can do is say that I'm going 48 hours on this, or until I run out of Red Balls, whichever comes first.
