    Upgrading Weapon?

    Hi,

I've seen some posts from folks about upgrading weapons and equipment using the Cube, and I have a few (dumb) questions:

    1. What precisely does upgrading do to weapons/equipment?

    2. What's the receipe?

    3. Can I upgrade uniques?

I apologize if I'm asking a n00b question or if I'm in the wrong area, but inquiring minds want to know! :)

    Thanks!

    Hi

    1) It just upgrades item version to higher one , i.e splint mail --> russet armor keeping original properties

    2) i don't remember it , but i'm sure that you can find it at diabloii.net.

    3) yep , you can upgrade anything except set items.

    Ok ...

Cool! OK, I was just worried if I wanted to upgrade my Lycander's Aim, the process may end up destroying some of the original mods (which no one would want!).

Haven't done too many weapons-related cube receipes (except for a Prismatic Amulet), so I really wasn't sure if there was any downside to upgrading.

    Thank you!

The recipes differ depending on what you're upgrading and what you're upgrading it to (normal to exceptional vs exceptional to elite for example).

The recipes can be found here:

    1.10 Cube Recipes

    Hope this helps!

    Hmm

    Yes, it does! *bookmarks page*

I'm just disappointed that I can't upgrade an exceptional to an elite in SP (unless I've misread something here ....)

    Thanks!

You can, we get all ladder only recipes and items in single player. Only thing we don't get is the Annihillus charm, as Diablo Clone can only legitamately spawn on the realms.

Also, there is a bug with upgrading ethereal armors in which the item looses the defense bonus granted by being ethereal.

You can...anytime you see "ladder only", it is available in SP...I guess the Blizz wonks didn't think we were worth a few extra letters in the sentence, such as "(Ladder & Single Player Only)"

You can. All the Ladder recipes work here in SPland.

    Have fun.

EDIT: I must be typing slow today. That's my second "late" post of the morning.

    Squee!

Well, day-um! I didn't know that ladder-only recipes were available in SP mode! How cool is that? :) :)

Now, where did I put all those spare runes and gems ...? *rummages frantically thru mule stable*

Thanks to you all for your responses; you've been a great help to me today!
