    Upgrading uniques

If they have already been socketed can they still be upgraded?

Yes they can. The sockets and whatever is in the sockets will remain after upgrading.

It's upgrading, not updating. Read this for more information:

I see that there are recipes for rares and uniques, is there one for sets?

There is no upgrade recipe for sets. Only rares and uniques can be upgraded.

Even if sets could be eth, IK maul is indest.

I'd love running around with eth SS and eth doombringer :D

Why does ethereality have to do with the discussion about upgrading?

are you sure the stats are not rerolled when an Unique is upgraded. Last night, I upgrades and Undead Crown (crown) to (grand crown). The enhanced defense increase is (30-60%). The original stats had an enhanced defense of 50% and after the upgrade the enhanced defense dropped to 40%
Still overall the defense was better but it didn't keep the original ED percentage.
Now i wonder if there is a possibility that I can technically reroll a pair of Chance Guard Chain Gloves to get a better MF%. Any feelings
    Thank you
    John B.

Stats won't get rerolled, but the new base defense for armor is determined randomly. That also happpens with items which normally have a base defense of max+1 because they have %ed.
