Upgraded goldwrap?

What does that mean?

I got a 30% goldwrap, so whats this jazz about upgrading it?

I decided to make a sorc today, and i have read that blizz sorc guide and im gonna try it out.

Only a few things worry me.

1. My comp is a piece of crap. (Only 64 mb of ram). Things like frozen orb lag me up real bad, so am I insane for trying to make a blizzard sorc? I made a skellimancer because I experience frequent lag spikes (Screen freezes yet the game goes on). This has gotten my fury druid killed sooo many times, so i wanted to make a skellimancer so when my screen froze, my skeletons would keep fighting while i jsut stood there.

2. I have never tried a sorc before, and as such, i have nothing to equip her with later on. I will have to get my 463% mf necro to find her stuff, but pit runs take so long, and even nm meph runs are out of the question (He is a skellimancer, so he cant run past everything looking for the stairs, which is why i want to make a mf sorc, so I can mf meph and all the other spots without taking an average of 10 minutes per run like i do in the pits)

Don't bother upgrading a goldwrap for a sorc. a) they;re all 30%, b) sorc dont need the extra 20 def anyways.

But what is upgrading goldwrap about? Is it one of the cube recipies?

yep! the cube recipe is the following:

tal + shael + p diamond + goldwrap = upped goldwrap.

i upped my goldwrap, too. not because of the extra defense but more because of 16 instead of 12 potion slots ... tal and shael are easy to come by so why not upping your goldwrap? :scratch:

/edit. but keep in mind that the requirements augment also. the upped goldwrap is a battle belt and not a heavy belt anymore. you need ** str instead of 45 str to wear it (if i remember correctly).

I loooove upped goldwraps. Yes, it's a cube recipe, check arreat summit. The reason why people love upped goldwraps is that a)it's cheap and b)you get an extra row of potions. b) is the most important reason

Like Herald of Doom said, the most important reason is that you GET ANOTHER ROW FOR POTIONS. That's what i call a very good reason, since at that stage you will rely more on potions than later on.

An extra row of potions for rlvl +5 only and en extra 20 defence (well thats just cream). the extra potions with such a nice unique is definately worth the first upgrade.

Normal to exceptional belt class items are one of the best upgrades to do in the game. You can get some really nice sash rares and upgrade them to get 3 rows more potions, just think with upgrading to get 3*4 big purples more when facing hell ancients. :thumbsup:

About goldwrap the rlvl of the unique is higher than the rlvl of the exceptional version so the +5 effects the initial rlvl not the exceptional item ilvl. so for the exceptional upgrade you add 5 to the rlvl it is currently at, this is rare in the unique and rare item upgrades. it makes this unique very interesting.

Belts fall into the category of armors.

I agree.

Sorcs dont need armor??? I disagree, sorcs are the weakest character, more defence the better.

If it means an extra 5% chance of not being hit , thats a lot of Hit points it will save you over say 100 hours of gameplay.

I also upgrade my chancies 2

If you play on the ladder , then you can upgrade both to Elite, makes them both into some decent MF high end gear.

You can upgrade any armor :
Belts, Boots, Gloves, Helmet, Body Armor

all use the same recipe.

I also like to upgrade my mercs gear, like Duriels shell.

I am so thankful you said this. I am a big fan of an Up'd Duriel's Shell as a mercenary armor. I have a merc that wears an Up'd Duriel's Shell
(Great Hauberk) with 180% enhanced defense. This equates to nearly 1400 defense. A perfect one would net 1500+...tell me, why don't other people use this?

It adds life, good resists and the all important CBF. If your merc gets frozen he is dead...end of story.
