    Upgrade Set?

    Good evening to all!

I recently fell in love with the upgrading of uniques but am very sad that this can't be done for Set items or am I missing something?

Is there a possibility that there might be a recipe for this in a later patch if there is one planned, or does this idea seem too ridicules!

Another question, can I socket my unique three times say the stormguild shield for example using the quest in Act5 and then add a runeword to it and have both properties?

    Good evening, fellow aussie?

Your not missing anything, You can't upgrade set items. It might be nice in a later patch, but I hear that 1.10 was the last one that Blizzard even considered. Personally, I would probably rather have extra set items (such as a set spear, or set throwing weapons), instead of being able to upgrade :)

Uniques can only be given 1 socket, unless they start with sockets (like the Spirit Forge), in which case you cannot socket them through any means (like the Act 5 quest). That said, runewords will not work in uniques regardless. If you complete a runeword in a unique item with the required sockets, you'll only get the bonuses from the runes individually. Runewords can only be created in grey items. They can't be created in magical (blue), set (green), unique (gold), crafted (orange).

    Another aussie indeed!

Thanks for the info. Sounds logical just a hope question I guess. As for the sets, yes they were a bit shy on the number of sets created!!!

Where abouts are you in Aus, I am in Sydney!

    Go the Tahs!

I'm in Queensland (Mackay, though soon to be Brisbane).

As for the sets, I think there was a discussion awhile ago (most likely last year) about whether or not some set items would be too powerful or not if they were upgradable.

I can't remember off the top of my head how that came out though (so it must have been awhile ago :D). I would image Griswords armor would be pretty nice if it was a sacred armor, instead of an ornate plate.

I have not been to Mackay, but maybe in the future, otherwise I have spent 2 years in Brisbane, fun place to be. I am assuming you are moving for a position?

I have not had the luxury of getting the Griswords Armor, but I think it would be better with the extra defense bonus. My highest character is a first time Lvl 66 Assasin. I am building a new one, but havent decided how to specialise her as I like to fight in close and hang back at times??? So I tend to spread my skills toooooo thinly and end up being pretty vulnerable to strong specialised monsters, I have not even started playing online yet!!!

    Since I am asking questions!!!

Can you please tell me what the "Slain Monsters Rest in Peace" means in Tyrael's Might - Sacred Armor?

    Thanks!

It means, that once you killed a monster, nothing can be done with it's corpse: it cannot be revived, you cannot cast corpse explosion or grim ward on it, and it can't be used for the paladin's Redemption aura, for instance...

"I see" said the blind man.

In other words thank you for explaining that to me!

    Take it easy!

G'day from Bris, raining at moment but I'll sure it'll clear. I have griswalds if you have someting to swap. As well as many other set/uniques.
Give me a priate message if you want to. I'm allways looking for new D2 friends.

Now I've heard everything, said the deaf man :)

Just an extra note about the slain monsters rest in peace. Apparently it only works with physical damage, not magical (well, according to Arreat Summit anyway).

You make it seem as though rain is a bad thing :D

And you trust the AS? AFAIK it works with all attacks.

No, I don't really trust AS, but unfortunatly, it's actually one of the very few links that actually mention anything about it. It makes it difficult to sort of get a straight story.
