Wait- You're right! A bit of excitement seeing the Male Wizard for the first time maybe?I hope the imps can ride the hounds as mounts. That'd be cool. Also, not sure if anyone noticed, but the male Wiz is in one of the new pics! XD
RAKANISHU!
Not at all .. he has been around in videos since Blizzcon08 .. check the mini spell videos on D3 official Wizard page .. two of them show him in action.Wait- You're right! A bit of excitement seeing the Male Wizard for the first time maybe?
They still come in large numbers ... the misty barb screenshot has more than 26 imps and few overseers attacking the Barb .. that's a lot of monsters on one screen.LaZeR said:Am I the only one who doesn't like the screeshots?
I mean, considering those guys will come in huge numbers like in D2, they look too big (size-wise) to be in large quantities.
LaZer .. Go back to look at D1 and D2 fallen to refresh your memory .. they were vibrant radioactive red, blue and green .. they look far better in D3.LaZeR said:Not to mention completly out of place in the 2 left screenshots with their too red color. The right one, however, looks amazing (with the Barb).
Red to fit with the other fallen .. and small because it's just their pet and shouldn't stand out too much from the other fallen who are the main enemy, that's what i think.LaZer said:Why does it have to be red? Or so small?
The male wizard could be seen before this screenshotGuess the update was a little bigger than everyone thought, eh?![]()
Are you kidding me?
What's so extraordinary? That's just another monster picture with 10 lines of lore.
Something doesn't look right about the first and second screens, like the Fallen are copy-pasted on top of the screenshot with Photoshop. They look very flat and disconnected, and I think it's because none of the colors in the environment are being reflected in their skin. On the other hand, they look GREAT in the third shot, so maybe this is just a lighting issue? The Fallen Ones in the first two shots look almost entirely self-illuminated. Maybe all they're missing is some more texture work and proper shadowing..
Also, I'm not really a fan, conceptually, of the Hounds. Besides Blizzard telling me so, I don't really see anything that makes them look remotely like a species of Fallen. What if they re-imagined the Hound as a type of domesticated Hyena that the Fallen use? I think the contrast of a red Fallen riding a mangy, striped Hyena is much more visually interesting than a Fallen riding a Fallen. (ahem.. even if they do breed a lot..) However, maybe that's a little too LOTR Warg-inspired?
I dunno. The screenshots are early development, so I'm sure we'll see a lot change between now and release. The Barbarian's helmet looks pretty sweet!
I did read it .. and noticed something.\
And Knight_Wolf-
Read the above post. It's not the color of them as much as it just doesn't fit the enviorment. And anyway, just cause D2 had flashy neon color Fallen doesn't mean we need to make that mistake again.
That's pretty much the case ... the game is still in early alpha .. so expect many models to be place holders or temp ..such complaints will only be meaningful when we reach Beta.Maybe all they're missing is some more texture work and proper shadowing
You mean in the small video clip? It's been heard in the background for quite some time when you visit Caldeum on the Diablo 3 website. Awesome music, very atmospheric. No one commented on the new background music? bah.
I don't see much whining in this thread, nor do I see how that quote has anything to do with what we've observed or criticized so far.For all you whiners,
Yes, I totally agree! I think a lot of us will be thrown off by the AI and strategy that will be involved in DIII. The combination of Health Orbs, new monster abilities, destructible environments, and 'smart' enemies is really going to make this a fun game to play. Diablo II was fun, but there was a bit of a 'space-out' mindless factor that I don't think will be as prevalent in this new one.I think that the best thing about the fallen will be their AI. In D2, there was a moment were you know exactly what to do with every fallen camp (killing a couple of imps - going to the shamans - etc), but now the strategy will probably depend on how many overseers and hounds are around, making us think a little bit before going on them burocraticly
Hmm, I feel there won't be a lot of strategy involved in killing a group of Fallen, except 'Leave the Overseer intact'. Why? It prevents them from running away all the time *rolleyes*Yes, I totally agree! I think a lot of us will be thrown off by the AI and strategy that will be involved in DIII.
