    Unsocketing in version 1.07

Is there a way to unsocket an item in version 1.07?

I found Griswolds crown a couple of years ago and mistakenly moved a rune into it. Out of embarrassment I won't say which one

Recently I've been reading these forumns and ppl alluded to unsocketing items. I was wounding if this is a post ver. 1.07 sequence or if I can remove or delete the rune in the crown.

You can't unsocket anything before 1.10.

    *~~~~ Doh!!! ~~~~*

    Thanks for the answer.

@Psych. No. It was an um, which I found in the same game. Sigh, 2 items wasted.

Ever since 1.10, you could put an item that had filled sockets, a hel rune, and a scroll *note, not a tome, a SCROLL* of town portal into the cube, hit transmute, and it'll empty it out.

Take note, however, that it doesn't pop the items out of the sockets. It destroys them. In the above case, removing the Um would destroy the Um, he wouldn't get it back - he'd just have all of the sockets in his helm empty again.

To the OP : An Um rune isn't such a bad thing to have in Griswold's helm. At least the resist all is a useful mod!
