Unorthodox/experimental LLD pally

Holy fire.

=D

I found this really dumb sword mfing, and noticed the +6 to holy fire and decided to keep it just because it was interesting. NOW, I've decided to make an LLD holy fire pally with it, ahhaha. This is just experimental and for fun, to see what it does. I'm sure vs. most pallys he'll get owned, but that's what I thought about my kicker who turned out to be rape.

Basically, the sword is:

Kinemal's Awl Giant Sword

Req str/dex not important
req lvl 23

17-54 dmg
98% ed
+164 AR
adds 6-24 fire dmg
+6 to holy fire (pally only)
+20 to mana

Sucks, but I'm only using for the holy fire.

My other gear:

death sash (CBF)
angelic ammy/rings
Twitchthroe
Magefist
Probably tearhaunch
And a 3 P amethyst'd great helm (can change if I want, idk)
assorted life/str/ar charms, mostly life.

Basically, all I wanna know is which combat skill should I use? I don't have a shield obviously since it's a giant sword so I was thinking probably charge? But...idk, I wasn't too sure, so I thought I'd ask here.

Oh, and also, how many points into holy fire do you think I should even put in? Since it's +6 and I might want to lvl charge a bit, and use the skill quests for resist fire (+18% fire dmg syngergy).

EDIT - Hmmm, idk why I didn't think of it before, probably too caught up on the damn wpn.

Would just buying some +3 holy fire scepter somewhere and using rhyme with it work better? Then zeal?

What I don't want:

"omfg this is a dumb idea lol"
"ur char sux"
"won't work"

etc, you downers! This is experimental/for complete fun and in no way serious. I have all the gear lying around, so why not eh!

Sorry for the disorganized post.:brainiac:

Too slow for zeal and you can't smite. You're bassicly stuck with charge and vengence.

I feel that I should say you're going to fail gloriously. The weapon is just terrible.

If you're on Ladder, Rhyme isn't even an option. You can use Spirit at level 25, and can afford to roll it 84710283927140823 times until the FCR/Mana/MDR are nice. You COULD buy a scepter and make honor in it for a Net +4 Holy Fire. I have seen exactly one level 30 Auradin utilizing Holy Fire, and I have seen exactly zero that could kill anyone with a decently-built character.

I happen to have a Level 30 Paladin who uses holy fire to kill people, and the build is fairly known.

The idea, however, is not zeal. It is exploding arrows.
You need to use an upgraded raven claw. The upgraded I'll explain later.

You see, the +fire damage, from holy fire, is actually added to the explosion effect on exploding arrows, AS WELL AS the regular attack. So say you have 1000 holy fire damage. When you hit them with the exploding arrow, it treats the explosion like a 1000 damage fireball- it can't be blocked, ignores armor, ect. Then the normal attack is ALSO applied, which includes that 1000 damage again. So a 1000 damage holy fire will give you 2000 damage arrows. Basicaly when you attack, you'll see their HP drop twice, if it hits.

Now, thats all fine and dandy, a 2000 damage fireball on a pally. The real intriguing part is that you can STR glitch the raven claw. By upgrading it, and using only charms to give you str/dex, your exploding arrows will become invisible. That means all your enemies will see is you punching the air and them getting hit, much like a farcaster looks.

Its a quite capable build in LLD, though hotspurs shut it down ridiculously fast.

Hahahahaha that sounds even more fun, I'm totally doing that. And what are the odds, I was mfing today, and I think my 2nd time doing baal I found ravenclaw, that's pretty funny.

Like I said, it's just a dumb/fun/experimental build, so I don't really care if it fails miserably, holy fire is fun.
