Unid items

So i found a charm and identified it.
Then the game crached, and when i reconnected, the charm was still unid.
Do people use this method with unid Ts and other stuff befor they sell it ?

Im not sure if the charm had the same stats when i identified it the second time, but the stats are determend when the items drop ?
