Unbelievable! There's no a single Windows Application that can simulate the DOS TREE>

For the last three days I've GOOGLED the Universe to look for a Windows-based application that can do this DOS Command:

tree > filename.txt

I paid $15 for one such program but it cannot list the folders in the simple tree structure.

The reason why I need this is because my boss doesn't know much about DOS, and for him to learn this and tinker with the .txt file will be a difficult task. I was hoping that there would be a simple Windows app that you could select a drive, right click, have a little bit of customization option, and print away the folders and subfolders in it

Sheesh. In this time and age one would like to think that DOS has been surpassed -- apparently, DOS is still teh win.

If I had a little more time, I'd write you one.
Are you a programmer Usu? If it's not too much a burden could you direct me to where I could learn to make scripts like these? I'm sure there's an easy way to make TREE > filename.txt in visual basic or something.

Dunno if that's what you want. It saves the list to a .txt so you can print it from there.

I definitely wouldn't consider myself a programmer. I hammer around in visual basic if I need to make something that works. I hate visual basic :) I have no formal training in it. However I have occasionally made some simple utilities to accomplish tasks around my company. I know it's really easy to get visual basic to incorporate a file explorer into any program, so I imagine it would be *fairly* easy to make a printable list.

Perl probably isn't an easy option in your case, but that's the only other language I would use for something like this. I use perl to create dirty little scripts to accomplish tasks quickly.

I will boot up the Windows box in a bit and see if I can't get a file viewer to print in Visual Basic. I have a big 'ol book to reference if need be.
