Unable to enter game, generic bad file

Happened to my second SP char in NM.
I just killed bloodraven, and quited soon after. This always happen in NM act1.
    Anything to do anymore?

edit: Atma cant open it, so I cant recover my stuff :<

Well, assuming you opened the char with atma before you probably have an org file that you can restore. Org files rule. :)

Doh =/ I lost a mid 20's HC Set/Uni Worshippers Tourney Druid due to this (pc reboot while accessing the file). And as I couldn't mule on or off him I hadn't opened him in ATMA *sob!*

    Hugs - I know it sux =/

As NF has already said, look through the .Org files that should be in your save directory, these are ATMA backups of the character, then rename them as character files. You might loose a few levels but its better than nothing. Be sure to check the character for dupes of items you'd already muled off to Stashes.

This happened to me just as my Fishymancer was about to enter Nightmare for the first time. I lost a good 10 levels :grr: I think its something to do with Windows scan disk... it only seems to happen when that runs at startup and decides part of teh save file is in the wrong place or somesuch.

Had this happen before. note: this always happens if you rename the save files

I ended up just deleting that char and starting anew.

You can just rename back the file if that's why though.

rename file will be rename extension of the object. You CAN'T use an object with changed name because the name must be the one of the char.
