    Ultimate MF Find (for me)

Well...I can finally say that I have found one of the best items in the game.

On a hell baal mf run, I'm slogging through the worldstone keep lvl 3 looking for the stairs to the throne with my summoning necro. This particular lvl spawned a millions (or so it seemed) of the little midget guys with blow guns. Not particulalry dangerous, but time consuming since skellies like to chase down every one of the little buggers.

I'm getting close to the throne stairs (in my mind i'm always close...:)), and I hit a boss pack of midgets. Boss has relatively non-descript mods, so I hang for a moment while my skellies corner him and whack on his butt.

He goes down and I proceed to start moving forward...wait! Better chk and see if he dropped anything...

    Gold Hydra Bow.

First time I ever found one of these...and it figures that bowazons are no longer in vogue.

    Prez

p.s. I got disconnected about 30 seconds later...still had the bow when I got back on :). For once bnet didn't screw me...

I have yet to find any bow better than kuko. Blizz musta nerfed bow drops too.

In 1.09 I had found goldstrike, a couple of witchwilds, and even a buriza.

In 1.10 I've found 1 kuko, and 3 skystrikes (and a few normal bows/xbows). Pretty lousy bow finds, good thing I only play javazons. :)

Not sure yet, but I'm thinking that the best use for this is going to be a rogue merc...

I have a javazon, but no bowazon. The only viable bowazon builds these days are Frostmaiden which doesn't require a high dmg bow and Stafazons which need a faster bow then a Windforce.

Hmm...maybe an Enchantress with a windforce...thats an interesting thought :jig:

People are stupid. If a class can't obliterate entire screens of enemies with 1 or 2 clicks ie. hammerdin/sorcs/trapper then it won't be a mainstream build and it will be ridiculed by almost everyone. A bowazon using strafe with windforce and atma's would be one hell of a killer as long as she had a nice valk and a might merc. Guided arrow was "nerfed" and relegated to pvp only status but that doesn't matter since strafe now kills bosses far faster than guided ever did.

Omikron8 - I'm not quite sure how to take your post..
If you are calling me stupid, then I'll happily debate you on that as well as compare educational achievements.

I have no doubt that I'll win that argument hands down.

Otherwise, unless you have something constructive to post instead of a semi-flame which demonstrates your lack of understanding, then I really don't need your input.

So I suggest you go back to posting in the softcore forums that you frequent and leave us alone.

In other words...stick a sock in your yapping hole.

Prez: Maybe, just maybe, he didn't mean YOU were stupid? He might have used your post just to bring up the fact that many people don't make Bowazons anymore, and then commented on it in general?

I might be wrong too and he meant that you were a stupid person, but in this case, the two sides of the coin were about as big and I think your interpretation did not hold ground for such determined and harsh words.

What I'm saying is: When in doubt, don't auto-flame, and here, there was alot of doubt.

That was how I read it. The standard assumption is that bowazons suck in 1.10. I think his post was a general statement that he feels bowazons are still quite viable.

My interpretation of his post remains the same and I don't regret my post or the wording.

My post as to the possible uses of the windforce was a "tongue in cheek" attempt to solicit opinions on the best possible use in 1.10. His response was a flame directed at me. I have absolutely no doubt that "People are stupid.." included his opinion of me.

In absense of his response, my retort remains as is...

I agree with the others that there could be some doubt, but I think you took it the right way. When someone quotes you, that means they are talking to/about you in my opinion. If he wasn't talking about you, he should have said, "oh but I don't mean Prez is stupid".

So I would have cut loose on the guy too. :teeth:

That's sort of a dilemma with the english language (especially for those of us non-natives) - the "you", as being used for at least three closely related forms of "addressing". One prime example would be right here, when quoting someone and commenting. "You" could mean "All of you", "You, the person" and "One" as in "One would think...".

I try to avoid misunderstandings by using "one" most often, unless it's clear what/who I mean. In this case, he could just as well meant "you all" as "you, Prez", so even if it's (understandably) more sensitive for the quotee, I think one should try and show mercy when there is doubt.

NOT hacking on Prez, because I understand his reaction, but it's seldom wrong to let people in on another angle. :)
