Ugh, what would YOU do?
I don't wanna type out the whole back story to this, partly because it's too long, partly because it's too personal. Summed up in a few sentences though, my best friend (also my roommate) has a girlfriend (who I've been good friends with for 3 years) who seems to enjoy injecting herself into my and my girlfriend's business, especially when not asked for, and basically creating drama between my girfriend and I. A lot of it has been behind my back, by her talking to my girlfriend, whom she's known for all of two months.
My girlfriend, when telling me about the things this girl has said, ALWAYS starts with "PROMISE not to say anything!" I always say yes just because I know she wouldn't tell me if I didn't, and it would drive me nuts. But my girlfriend never says anything to this girl. The girl says things that bother my girlfriend, things that REALLY bother me, things that are offensive, condescending, and overall acts like a total *****. Meanwhile I'm supposed to sit idly and let my girlfriend not do anything about it.
I sat down with my girlfriend today and told her I can't just sit by and hear about these things and not say anything. She keeps saying stuff like "it doesn't involve you", but that's total crap because it completely does. So during this discussion, she gives me an ultimatum: "either don't say anything or I will never trust you again."
So it's lose/lose for me. Keep my relationship and lose my sanity by never saying anything and pretending I'm clueless about what's going on, or most likely lose my relationship by doing what I think is completely logical; talking to my roommate and his girlfriend about what's been going on.
I don't really need advice. I doubt anyone will influence what I'm gonna decide on, but I'd still like to hear what people have to say.
