I am currently making a kicker to take down the ubers and I was wondering if having max block was a mandatory to have before I even attempt ubers or would I be able to get by without it? What if I were to use a 2handed weapon...say an upped ribcracker, would I be able to take them down with that?

No one knows? Also one more thing that I thought of was even if the shield wasn't used for max block it could also provide a boost in resistance which would be important when going against mephisto's conviction aura. So the question still is should I use a shield(and if I do should I go max block) or can I get by without?

Why would you want to use an upped ribcracker? It is slower than a normal one and weapon damage has nothing to do with kicking.

Yes you should use a shield, but max block is not mandatory no.
