Uber-Meph aura

I have barb which is supposed to be Uber barb. My greatest concern is Uber Meph conviction aura. I've read that it has 20 level.

The question is:
Is it possible to canceal this aura with Merc aura? For instance, if I equip my 1act merc with: Faith bow 2skills 15 level fanatism aura, shako, Chains of Honour, will I get at the end 21 level fanatism aura which will canceal Uber-Meph aura?

defiance?, its conviction he has, and you cannot cancel it with any level of fanatism, make a treachery prebuff that will help you alot.

items that give you "xx level xxx aura" arent affected by +skills. in your example the merc has a 15 level fanat aura and nothing will change that.

also you cannot cancel an aura with another one. you would have to cancel it with the same one (conviction with conviction). and as far as i know conviction is the only aura you can cancel out from an opponent. you can override auras from within your party (if you had a merc with lvl 15 fanat and you had lvl 16, yours would take over), but you cannot override a monster having a lvl 12 fanat with your lvl 16. conviction is the only exception to this as far as i know. you would have to have a lvl 21 conviction aura (only obtainable by a pally) to cancel out mephs conviction.

Thx. Bad news for me.
My 1 act merc will have than eth Forti, Kira (for resists and cannot be frozen feature) or Vampire Gaze (with cham rune, when I get one) and mentioned above Faith bow.

rarely are mercs worth equipping for trist. it's just a rough place for them. if you do though go all out and prebuff her w/ fade from treachery.

If you are not playing a pally forget about overriding his aura, as the level 12 conviction from Infinity is not big enough to do it. Mephi will reduce your res by 125% so your res calcaulation looks like that:

75% for max res
100% for hell modificator
125% to cancel Mephi
-----
300%

You get 30% in total from the Anyaquests in all difficulties and as you are a Barbarian some Natural res aswell. The rest needs to come from gear.

Uber-meph's strongest attack is the cold orb, so if you use 2x ravens, you'll be ok in uber-tristam. At least I never had any trouble. Did die once or twice, but I never failed to the the goodies.
