Uber-Mancer

For Ubers and end-game sorta fun which is the better way to go, Psner or Summoner? I'm not interested in PvP or magic find on this character at all.

i have taken the ubers with a summoner.when you have revive and get some urders it doesnt take very long.
as soon as i grow a pair, i am going to try it in hardcore.oughta be real exciting.:grin:

I have a hard time seeing how straight poison would take ubers down.
Summoner w/ revives that have cb the easiest and quickest way.

Does anyone know if poison stops lilith's hp regen? dps from necros doesn't seem to be enough to finish ubers or minis if they are regenerating.

@ZodFS: Welcome Newcomer to The Darkness. Grab a brew and feel free to raise some corpses.

Any source of poison stops hp regen.

What if the monster is Poison immune like Lilith or Uber Meph (110%)? I just tested on a maw fiend (PI) and he wouldn't get poisoned by my mages and kept regenerating. Maybe lower resist is needed?

Against the regular monster, prevent monster healing is by far the easiest.

Against an uber, use open wounds. With open wounds and a bunch of urdars crushing blow together with blizzard, I've managed to beat the über's one by one.

So then I'm guessing that we need a weapon with Open Wounds on the merc? That would be the most efficient way huh.

It probably would if he doesn't die, due to wander or bad luck + bad resist.

Oh, and teleport will be a great help, maybe pretty impossible without, at least if you're not experienced/skilled, just use some teleport charges from a circlet, it doesn't cost more than about 2k pr. charge to repair IIRC. You really don't need that many charges neither. Or use the cube formula if you've some flawed gems for repair.

With my uber-summoner I find that high life leech and an infinity work wonders. My set up changes around from an infinity w/ fort; and the helm is one of many, andi's w/ ral, 20%DR gaze + ber, or really anything you find effective, but tahts what works for my merc, and keep a line of full juvies for just him, i tend to use 1-2 in an uber run. Not too bad

Summoner is frankly the only way to go. Uber Meph will NEVER die to your poison..... EVER.

I beat ubers with a poison/summon hybrid. But it was my merc/summons that killed meph, not my poison. However, my fishy with mages, is a million times better for doing ubers. Only place in the whole game that I found my novamancer to be faster than my fishy is in the chaos sanctuary. Everything dies to 1 nova, and my kill speed doesn't go down when my summons die from getting IM'd.
