Uber Diablo

I'm posting a thread about dc again, because last one, i didn't phrase question right.

Some of you like to talk about random things before you actually answer the question, and even then you dont actually answer the question sometimes.

Otherwise, plz... get to the point!

Now the reason i put this in necro forum is i am necro, and i want advice in defeating uber diablo with a necro.
Before that though, i'm still not sure how you meet DC. A lot of you guys have fought him, but you all seem to have different opinions or variations of the idea on how DC will show up. If you guys can give me something exact, or most accurate (like how many soj's exactly?) i'll buy you a drink :drink:

Could it be that that is because this is a discussion forum??

As compared to... say for instance... an encyclopedia, or your personal paid research team???

:D

If you feel a thread is going off topic, jump back in and gently remind people of what you wanted to know.

You should be flattered, not upset. Congrats, you managed to start a thread that people found interesting and contributed something to.

Some of the threads that I have learned the most in, are those that went off track.

Now, about your other question, which I can only assume is far less important, since you buried it at the bottom of your post... I personally found the Diablo Clone too hard to beat as a Necromancer. His huge life regen plus Armaggedon to wipe out my army in no time flat, and then instantly recover the moment I try to get a new force... very frustrating.

Try a Barbarian instead.

The other questions are covered in the various guides on the subject scattered around. Try the Strategy forum. I don't think there has been a specific Necro vs DC guide written, though apparently Crushing Blow from Urdar type monsters helps tremendously... and his resistance to Magic is lower than his resistance to other types of attacks, so a very high Bone Spirit might be a good attack as well?

I unforutnately wont be much help on the Diablo build, because i know absolutely 0 about necromancers, but perhaps I would be able to offer some assistance on how to find him. I have never personally done it, but I had raised the same question in a different forum a few days ago, and they gave a pretty decent link on how to find, and kill D-Clone.

I hope it helps!

Ya i have found that the only 2 good killers of uber diablo are blizzard sorceresses and hammerdins. I know there are ways for other builds to work. But those 2 are the main ones. I would assume the minions would die pretty fast to uberD's attacks.

Minions die fast, so you have to do it right. A Skelemancer can easily kill diablo clone, although "30 seconds" doesn't usually work.

I always do it like this (I only have one char atm, so he has to do everything... including DC):
- spawn DC. I usually play with him for a while, so we get to know each other a little better
- get Urdars or other monsters with crushing blow
- make sure you have a full set of MAGES. Warriors aren't required here, but you usually have some from getting the revives. If you like micromanagement, go for poison and cold mages only (DC is 95% resist all, so damage from your magi is not a factor).
- engage him again. The poison mages will prevent his regeneration; the cold mages will chill him a bit (I guess). Use gumby and decrep to tame him down a bit. Let the revives use their crushing blow to remove most of his hitpoints. If the revives die, get new ones. Repeat until DC only has a small shiver of life left
- raise full skeleton army again, and use them to remove the last few hitpoints. I never have to reraise my army at this stage, unless I start too early (i.e. my revives die, but I consider it "enough" and go back to skellies, even though it's still a touch too much life).
- bring in a hell-capable mule to pickup your new anni, and mule it off to some other mule

Note: if your merc has poison attack, and if he survives his encounter with DC, make sure that your poison magi get the chance to apply their poison last! With decent levels you'll have 500 seconds or more poison duration, which gives you more than enough time to get fresh revives or a new army. Due to the crappy revive design, I usually get fresh skellies/mages elsewhere, before I go into the map where I'm getting my revives.

Note: if your merc has crushing blow, you might not even need the revives. I don't have the gear to try that yet.

Note: the merc is no match for DC; I usually don't waste the potions to keep him alive. If your merc has crushing blow it's probably worth the potions :)

I've killed DC a few times already --- no prevent monster heal required (much to my surprise; I still have that PMH dagger on switch, but never used it); the poison seems to be effective.
