@mir - to be fair to the merchants: Imagine us suppliers coming by every few mins with more merchandise. They must have mountains of stuff in their warehouses. The overhead has got to be astronomical. And then they need to look at their ROI. It's gonna be decades before they make their money back. Have you ever even seen another customer in those shops?? They must be annoyed with us always asking, "you have any JMoD in stock?" "When is the JMoD shipment coming in?". They must be getting tired of us. "Why don't you buy something, instead of just browsing?!?

Hey man I didn't see him complaining when I unloaded millions of gold on gambling...at this rate I must be the bestest customer ever for all those terrible pieces of garbage he hawked off on me, I mean I'd get better returns just gambling the lottery

Haha. Just think of the poor guys that don't have a gambling license. They are left to scratch out a subsistence existence selling health pots and TP scrolls. :(

Griswold's is my standard merc armor. One is filled with pamethysts, for a +50 str bonus which is very useful when equipping him with e.g. an Insight CV at a low level. Later on, IAS jewels are used, although I'm usually replacing it with Treachery as soon as I have the right base armor.

Regarding Insight, I think that the critical strike bonus is the most important variable. L1 - 16%, L4 - 38%, L6 - 46%. Regarding average damage, this is kind of an extra multiplicator. For a merc with let's say a 260% Insight, the difference of 8% between L4 and L6 critical strike is like another 28.8%ed on the weapon. The difference between L1 and L6 is like 108%ed!

Thanks for the numbers, 28% definitely a significant difference. Only 1 copy of Gris ATM, so probably need to make IAS version next. What would be better as secondary mods, non wep ED or +max damage?

I wouldn't use significant secondary mods at all on twink gear. Possibly something like 23%ED/IAS which wouldn't do a high end item justice.

Similar run to the Sur drop, /p8 no tele lvl 90 necro, usually just run around and skirt mobs if I can but sometimes have to raise an army to deal with big armies/packs; lots of gems, jewels and charms usually, and just had this vex drop :D

I just finished a pretty nasty 2.1k run dry spell (counting only superchests) in LK myself, just came back from a vacation yesterday and this morning, got back to LK running again and within half an hour, this drops:

1/3rd of Enigma done, unless I am going to cube up my 2 Lo Runes, but I doubt that.

You certainly have an Ith rune as well, so you are at 2/3 :)

I don't know what it is with Sur runes, but I have enough to make Enigma from them, but no Jah or higher rune. I guess if I find another Sur, I will cube up those other six.

Sur is more common than most runes

    It goes something like this:

ort/tal/ral, gul, mal, sur, hel, io. . . cham, el, ist, zod, ber, jah.

Ya, pretty sure that's right, in my experience.

What I dislike about the Io rune is that each time it drops, I'm trying to hynpnotize myself into believing that it's a Lo. I need about two seconds to realize that it doesn't work.

I think everybody has their own luck with Runes. My most commonly found Runes are quite different than your list pharphis. I have found a bunch of Ist, Lo, and Ber runes, a few Surs, maybe one or two Chams/Jahs, and never a Zod. It took forever for me to actually find a Mal Rune. I've definitely found a ton more Hel Runes than Surs.

I did find a pair of rare boots Ive been using in my fresh restart. Although tempted to swap in some War Travelers from an old character, I have held off.

    10% FRW
    10% FHR
    48% Enhanced Defense
    7 max stamina
    Fire Resist 39%
    25% Magic Find

And I also found a Verdungos as well a few nights ago, which has made Hell a little easier. I wish those boots would have had 20% or more FRW, but I am using a Stealth armor and Peasant Crown so my movement speed is pretty good right now.

Only +2 more than Arreat's = 10% more from concentrate. So, I guess this is probably only good for novelty build?
    Code:
    Prefix 1158 Slayer Guard
    Defense: 102
    Durability: 48 of 55
    (Barbarian Only)
    Required Strength: 118
    Required Level: 35
    Item Version: Expansion
    Item Level: 87
    Fingerprint: 0x240ed6d1
    +3 to Concentrate (Barbarian Only)
+1 to Grim Ward (Barbarian Only)
    +1 to Berserk (Barbarian Only)
+3 to Combat Skills (Barbarian Only)
May try out some all blue builds. ;)

    10% more what? def? dmg?

If dmg, 1.07 arreat's is probably better (0.5 max dmg per lvl iirc)
