Trying to choose between Spirit and Stormshield

Yeah I'm about to make my first windy druid.

Im planning to use the following:

Shako
rare or crafted elemental ammy
Wiz spike
Upped Vipermagi
Spirit OR Stormshield (I need serious advice on this decision)
Arach mesh
rare FCR rings
Trang gloves
Sandstorm Treks.

So yeah I can't decide whether to use my 31% Monarch Spirit (for skills, resist, and FCR) or a Stormshield (For DR, Block, Resist)

Obviously I have a choice between higher damage, or higher defense against meleers. If any of you have experimented with these shields, could you give me some insight please?

well....if you are dueling, then use the ss. with the sole exception being that you are a pure caster killer, then don't bother with block, use spirit+enigma+everything fcr that you can get and try to hit 163 fcr. thats the 9 fpc bp, and you will be teleporting as fast as a pally/necro can.

Kinda important to know this in advance.

I would recommend SS without having that information. The skills from Spirit can partly be made up by skillers and FCR you get from Arachnids, Viper and Wiz (already 90 FCR IIRC). Not to mention the rings.

And there is always a third choice:

RHYME in a Grim Shield

CBF
25 res all
Increased AND faster block
MF

Saves about 50-100 points in strength that can go into dex for max block or Vitality.

Just make max block with Storm, then use Spirit for casters. Thats what i do works great. =)

Thanks for the adivce anyone. This is SC PvP by the way.

But yeah, I just thought of another alternative that saves me a lot of strength: Upped mosers.

Upped mosers has pretty good defense when Pdiamoned, 75% chance to block, faster block rate, and low str req.

I could use mosers vs. most people, then slap on some str charms and my SS when facing physical damage-dealers
