Trouble in Hell with Kodiak

Now I don't know if anyone here has played Kodiak but I have managed to make it to Hell. I still keep having some issues playing it against the casters in Chaos and whatnot. Luckily, I am not planning to run Chaos but just Uber Tristam and be a torch runner. Now will I have the same issues in Tristam as Chaos? Is it totally gear dependent? I mean I got all the items it says to in the guide but just haven't upped them yet. I mean would that make a difference? Any insight would be helpful. Thanks guys!

Uber Trist is very item dependent. Though I can't recall what a Kodiak's item build is >.<.

For Chaos, it's about field control. SW the Oblivion Knights, kill them, then focus on the minions.

AsianChexMix, I made a variation of the Kodiak build called the Town Dump Werebear. With a few gear changes (assuming you went the summon route) you can improve your kill speed dramatically and deal with the Chaos easily. Look in the stickies.

Oh goodness...looks like I'm going to remake another Kodiak but with summoner focus (and possibly take some of the town dump werebear into consideration) and see how that works. Safety, how does Ubers go with your build?

The original Kodiak is a PvP Mauler Bear with emphasis on maxing Oak & HoW for versatility, though ever since SSoG made his guide it's sorta turned into more a Hunger thing it seems, which is fine.

For PvM this is your best gear:

-Guilliums 'um'
-Azurewrath '15ias/mod'
-Duress
-SS 'um'
-Draculs grasp
-string of ears (15/8%)
-Gore Riders
-highlords
-raven/AR-resist-leech

for Uber Trist, prebuff with Treachery, lvl 15 Fade.

This covers just about everything: awesome resists, crushing blow, open wounds, deadly strike, fhr, block, 50% dr, 17-23% leech, lvl 11-13 sanctuary aura.

As for skill layout, I'd go with something more like Safetypro's build. For your sake though, I wouldn't go the max HoW & grizzly route since his damage isn't gonna do a lot for you when it comes to ubers. I'd prolly max Oak sage & Dire Wolf instead, then put a point in grizzly just for tanking and a distraction.
