You should have maxed shock web instead of wasting points on fire blast and venom. There should also be at least 1 point into cloak of shadows, psychic hammer and especially mind blast.

ya i have those, i didnt want to put em cuz i dont use em
and i am maxing shock web, but fire blast and venom are only for monsters with lightning immune.

Yeah, you'll need something for the lightning immune in Hell. Fireblast will have to be near 20 to be effective. Venom will be more effective at lower levels if you're kicking with high IAS, but then you're in harms way. If kicking, kicking skills should be up near 20. How are you applying venom. BF? A flail?

The light immunes can probably be taken out with Death Sentry. You really should utilize Cloak of Shadows and Mind Blast. They are very helpful when you need crowd control. The mind blast will temporarily convert them allowing time for your traps to do damage while cloak of shadows will help against the undead archers, rangers, etc. Use these and you will see a great improvement of the effectiveness of your trapper.

Other than that, your gear looks fine. Is it sort of an mf trapper? I also recommend spirit shield, just get some +strength small charms, anni, or torch. The +skills is nice as well as the huge mana boost, fcr boost, and especially FHR.

ok i have a torch and im not rly tryin for an mf trapper but i guess its ok...ill think about gettin a spirit shield if i can afford it! =] thx

In Hell levels, DS will be insuffcient to take out LIs, especially LI/PI uniques. Believe me I'm there. You'll need a lot help from your merc to start creating corpses for a pure trapper, without fireblast near 20.

well my merc helps alot with the LI yet i havent seen any LI/PI but i know they exist!! he also has insight and a defense aura

Why do you have venom if you are not using any martial arts skills ?

You could consider doin Dragon Talon (DT) if you can get the guill. helm, gore boots, better armor and 18-24 points in DT. venom would be useful and

Mind blast can save your but. I lost a high lvl trapper when charged by 2 champ lords. Mind blast lets you stop them in there tracks so you can lay traps, run away or get your merc in gear.

ya ive been using it since someone recommended i do...it works very good!
and im lvl ** and dont want to spend the rest of m points i get in DT, pointless, huh?

hmm...see if you cn get a hold of a lightsabre if you have the stats--that should help with your melee/poison attack.

I don't think i recommend DT either, that sounds like spreading yourself too thin.

craft yourself some blood gloves for hose situations where you have to go melee.

You could also try passion weapon if is not too expensive for you (prolly in a phase blade):
+25% Increased Attack Speed
+160-210% Enhanced Damage (varies)
50-80% Bonus To Attack Rating (varies)
+75% Damage To Undead
+50 To Attack Rating Against Undead
Adds 1-50 Lightning Damage
+1 To Berserk
+1 To Zeal
Hit Blinds Target +10
Hit Causes Monster To Flee 25%
75% Extra Gold From Monsters
Level 3 Heart of Wolverine (12 Charges)

this notably has: AR Bonus, melee oskills, and HoW chargeswhich will boost the phys damage and AR of you AND your merc.

I'm guessing part of the probem you have when you try to melee, is that you're actually doing NO damage, because of low AR. Lightsabre or Passion or a lucky blood craft should help you with that.

I find Bos is better than Fade. Get resists from your shield,armor and charms.

Simple solution to increase your trappers effectiveness is to get a infinity merc. You remember how easy NM was ? Hell will be close to the same if you have infinity. The inexpensive alternative is a wand with charges of lower resists. It is not nearly as good as infinity, but it helps lots.

I read that the lower resist wand is divided down for the elemental immune in Hell so that they still remain immune. So a lower resist wand is ineffective for the immune in Hell. Have you tried that out?

I still think that getting fireblast up there is you're best approach. And let your merc handle the FI/LI with a weapon with both physical and poison or cold damage.

QFT. Im not even bothering with fade. I use bos to avoid any potential sticky situations, even in the maggot lair!

Also true, but infinity is still quite pricey at this end of the ladder season and as Thrasher pointed out, the lr wands dont quite cut the mustard.
mb and ds are a lot slower, but still do the job.
