Trang's set messing up my FCR !

I've made bonemancers before but this is the first time I'm using Trang-Oul's set for it (normally I only use that for poisoners and summoners). But the moment I put on my last item and changed to a vampire, it seems that I lose 2 frames in FCR when I use Bone Spear.

Did anyone else experience this? Anything I can do about it?

Come on, Ed! After over 1,000 posts you still haven't read about Trang-Oul's FCR bug? Check the bug forum or do a search on Trang's, you can't miss it. The Avatar is best used for poison and supplemental assistance, like summons. A strong dagger would allow you to become a real vampire, still have decent blocking and hordes of undead minions. It's one of the gear selections I'll be suggesting for my next hitpower build.

IMO it's not really a bug. You are changing your form, so you are also changing your BPs (this happens with wereforms too).

Vampires are the slowest casters in the game, by far.

Amazon/Rogues need 152 to reach 11FPC, and Rogues can only get 50%FCR, so their limit is 14. I think that beats a vampire for the worst, even if monster vampires can't get bonuses. Though the form breakpoints make sense, I've never seen that on a list anywhere. Think we could get to testing it and record the scale ourselves?

The Mouldy Tome actually has the FCR, FHR and IAS tables listed for the Vampire form.

All the way near the bottom, yep, but ouch! Maximum FCR with full Trang's is 110%, which means a Rogue (assuming Amazon FCR) can get one frame better. Well, damn.

No, must have missed that one, never really used the Trang set until recently. Tnx. I guess I'll stick with poison then.

Probably a good idea, since the best a Trang-Oul vampire can do is 15FPC, and that's a Necro's base!

You'll become quite [in]famous if you make one. It's not like you can't make one, but rather it's just that it's not very practical given the garbage FCR breakpoints.

I just got trangs set and was considering making a bone necro...is it even worth it with the set???

Well, I just tried it and regret that I invested the time. I might continue with it to get my Hell Forge drop, but I won't use it again.

Trangs set works nicely for a poisoner or a summoner since fast cast rate isn't an issue on those builds...but bone...that's just a bad idea. A bonemancer is all about being able to spam as many spears/spirits as fast as possible.

I'll reiterate the common wisdom mentioned in the thread and say no. If you want to use Trang's, Poisonmancer, Poison/Summoner, and Summoner/Fishymancer are all good with it. (I think it might work on a Lord of the Magi build, too.) Bonemancer...just no. Bad choice. Because Trang's messes up fcr so much, it's better to stack more +skills items (like SoJs, BKs, Mara's, etc.) and not worry about fcr that much.

My Trang-Oul Necromancer is a Poison/Summoner and does fine with the crappy fcr. I can't imagine playing a Bonemancer with such terrible fcr.
