Trangs Blocking % over 60?

I use full Trangs gear... and I don't see any reason why... but my blocking on it says 67% when i hover over my defense. It's socketed with a perfect diamond to help with resists.... my rings... ravenfrost and manald.... ammy is plain old +3 to poison/bone spells... or is it all necro? Either way.... how in the world did I get over 60%? I didn't think you can.....

Interesting. My full-TO necro is lvl 89, has 71 dex (base+gear), and the display says 18% chance to block, 48% chance that fallen will hit me, and 1210 stones of jordan sold to merchants.

60% does sound a bit high... are you sure you clicked on vitality and not on dexterity when you levelled up?

well you can achieve max block (75%) adding points to dexterity. the shield itself gives 60% chance to block, but you wont be blocking 60% of the attacks if you dont have an exact number of points added to dex

The blocking depends on your dexterity aswell as the blocking on the shield
here is the formula:
Total Blocking = (Blocking * (Dexterity - 15)) / (Character Level * 2)

o your 'real' % blocking is listed in the character tab when you put your mouse on the 'defense', and not just the one listed in your shield

Oh, just to clarify... I did go for Max Blocking... so I would expect 60% because that's what the Trangs shield gives.... but, based on the above formula... I guess the 60% is just used in the calculation and not the absolute limit you can have... I thought it was. That must be what happened... because I never noticed this until I got an Anni... adding +10 to all my stats... that extra Dex must be what did it then! Well.... that's a nice little suprise for me

And yes, I know what my REAL blocking is... because my real blocking is 67%... that's what promted me to ask about this.... thinking the shields block rate was a cap on what my blocking could be.

oh, no, with any shield, the only cap is 75% blocking. It just depends on the amount of dexterity you have.

I guess that answers my question in another thread, thanks. (I remember reading somewhere that blocking is also bugged when using the full set, because the vampire graphic that it is tied to has no shield and thus no block)

Plus...I can still socket the shield with a rune that increase block (was it ELD?), if I won't find a Poison facet....
