Trang fire skills question

Ive never been a necro yet but im wondering if the fire skills given by trang items increased by plus to all skills? im not talking bout synergy ...just wondering if plus 3 or 5 skills adds to these fire skills or by items with plus to fire skills like the rising sun amulet....anyone know? :scratch: thanks :howdy:

The fire skill benefit from +all skills. They do NOT benefit from +necro skills.

Also, things like +firewall doesn't usually work with them 'cause these tend to have a little "(sorceress only)" attached.

yeah, i find firewall very useful :thumbsup:
Mine does around 1.5k dmg per sec and with a lower res wand on switch its great for killing PI or just if u want to have sum fun

It's the only effective fireskill provided by TO, even though the only +all skills I have is the anni.

Still, I use fireballs early on when rushing people/mules through normal I've yet to find a use for meteor... their damage is nonexistent, and the casting delay makes them completely useless even in normal.

Hm... I just rermembered what I use meteors for... to show people that I'm bored.

Oskills - the skills that are +(skillname) with no char only attached to them.

Oskills are able to be leveled up with +all skills and +fire skills/cold skills/lightning skills an example you can use magefist and a leaf staff with 2 parts of trangs set and you will get a slvl 22 fireball [+18 fireball(from trangs) + 1 from magefist, and +3 from leaf staff]. Another good item to use would be hexfire (a low level unique sword, with +3 fireskills). you could use the helm, head, and amulet from the trangs set with the hexfire and magefist to give you +4 skills to your fire oskills.

Using the charge/synergy bug you can wear a ring with charges of firebolt to increase the fireballs damage. hexfire has charges of hydra they would also get the bonus for the charges on the ring.

thanks for the suggestions Uzziah :idea: very informative...and helpful to the build I'm making...now I need to know which is more expensive or harder to get from the set: trang belt or trang helmet? I know armor and gloves are easy enough to get with pgems :scratch: dont know about the other two... I'm sure the shield is the most expensive part

No.

"oskills" (the +skill mods that are not limited to a class) are capped at +3 if the wearer "owns" the skill. A sorceress has the fireball skill (doesn't matter whether she has invested skillpoints or not), so she gets +3 fireball.

what about a trang set with all fire facets? rofl. prolyl a waste of facets but would that boost your fire skill dmg by much? :scratch:

The most expensive part is the belt! Ive found 2 helms and 2 shields but no belt. Traded mine for an um (i was desperate ).
But you could get belt for maybe 30 pgems or so, im not sure since ive never traded it with pgems. just ask around in the trade forum and see what u can get.

Interesting build I saw a while back was on the Barb forums. It was a barb kitted out in full trangs (except shield) and wearing 2X Flamebellow sword.

Excluding any +skills from free slots (jewellery, etc), you get
+6 to Fire Skills
+12-18 to Inferno (variable stat on Flamebellow)
+18 to Fireball
+13 to Fire Wall
+10 to Meteor

The Inferno Oskill may even be doubled by wearing the 2 Flamebellows, which would give a rather uber 24-36 Inferno, although I suspect this is wishful thinking.

Either way, it's not to shabby imo :uhhuh:
