Found an Eth Zaka 200 % - help! Hi people! I’m new to the forums and to the game (totally hooked In a couple of month’s – I never had this with a game before!) My first chars where really bad, but I learned a lot from my mistakes. Now I have a good mf sorc and I’m starting to find good stuff (last week got my first Ist ever!) Yesterday I almost fell of my chair. Mephi dropped an eth zaka 200 %! I created a game “O blabla†and in no time it filled up with players offering great items. Some guy offered an Enigma, a Hoto 40 and some Ist’s (hammerdin here I come!) but a friend of mine also joined my game and made me exit before the trade was done. The trader was a hacker he told me and he knew that because of the numbers in his account name and an other player in the game had almost the same account name (something whit O and 0). So, here is my question: How to trade safe, and how much is it at least worth, so I know I’m doing good or I have to start calling the other “noob†which is the standard procedure, correct? (u got to love sarcasm) Anyway, thx beforehand for helping me out! Bert I play on Europe, maybe it matters, don't know.
First of all, welcome to the forums and to the game. Taking your first steps in Diablo II is indeed a wonderful experience, and I'm glad you like it. Congratulations on your find too! And yes, sadly, as Battle.net is a free internet community, lamers, scammers and script kiddies are abundant. Basically, if someone has an outrageous offer for one of your items, there's something fishy going on. http://www.diabloii.net/battlenet/warnings-trading.shtml This is a quite outdated part of this site, but lots of these hints are still valid. If you want to trade safely, you can also use the Trade Forums present here. You can safely assume that you won't get scammed by forum members. Good luck!
thx Thx m8! BTW: ur work here on the forum's rock! It is just a great source for DII fans without a clue just love your monty pithon avatar
No worries, and glad you like the avatar. I do want to point out that it's not my work here on the forums, though. I'm not an admin, or a moderator, or anything, if that was what you were implying.
Ow, that came out wrong That was in general to the forum/site dudes! But ppl like u make the forum work as it should BTW, "Snowieken" looks like a nick for a dutch speaking person, any chance u r one?
Ah, I seem to have misunderstood your post... sorry for that. Yeah, I guess we do some work as well. And yes, I'm a Belgian (Flemish).
Somewhere in the province of Antwerp, but we really should leave this stuff for Private messaging, or something like that. There are a few other Belgians here as well, by the way, as well as some Dutch people. I am always willing to find new friends on Battle.net. I am not sure if you will be able to find me online though, unless you play Hardcore Ladder, which I am playing rather exclusively, actually.
you are right, i'm sorry. Back to the zaka. I'm offering him for sale on the trade forum and i got some offers but they could also be calling me names couse i really don't understand them. Could u translate it for me in plain english? or Dutch? thx for the help
They are using quite some abbreviations, it is generally Bnet slang. They are not calling you names, don't worry, but I understand that it can be overwhelming for a new player. I replied to that thread, but maybe it is better if you reply to that thread yourself, explaining that you are a new player. This might tempt some people to try and trick you into giving it away for much less than it is actually worth, but I am sure the regulars will prevent that. As I said in that other thread, I don't trade much myself, so I don't actually know what it is worth exactly. There is also a Trade Value forum, by the way, where you can ask what your shield is worth.
If you wonder what the abbrevations mean: HR = Highrune = runes ohm to zod. eth ba = eth Breath of the Dying Berzerker Axe, the XXX% meaning the enhanced damage cpmpared to a "normal" eth Berzerker Axe. BP enigma = Enigma armor made in a breast plate. If you want to lern more about the runewords, look here. I can't rally help you with the trade value, as i never have had such a expensive item, but I can say you are a lucky, luck guy *stkrause
